Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for your kind donations to our classroom. With your help, I was able to add a variety of new items to our Dramatic Play Area, which made it more engaging and also a center that the students want to choose.
Prior to these items, the students were not apt to choose this center during Purposeful Play time but now, it's the most popular center! The kids were ecstatic when I revealed the new items for them to use in the center. The way the students are now interacting with each other during imaginative play using the pretend food items, kitchen utensils, baby dolls and clothes is really a joy to watch.
I plan to continue to add new items to this center to enhance their experiences of working and playing with each other by acting out and role playing real life situations. Students learn so much through play and this is a great center for students to learn so many life long skills as well as to work cooperatively with each other while having fun.”

Funded Apr 28, 2022Your donations allowed me to create meaningful hands on activities for the students to use during small group math and reading lessons. I was able to align activities to the CCSS we were working on in our lessons. The students were actively engaged in the activities and worked together to practice concepts being taught in our curriculum. I know that my students gained an understanding of the skills being practiced because their end of topic and unit assessment scores were showing an increased number of proficient scores. Thank you again for helping out the students in my classroom.”

Funded Feb 11, 2021Thank you so very much for donating to my project. Kindergarten students thrive when they are able to work with and manipulate hands on activities. Activities in color tend to hold the attention of the students because they are colorful and engaging.
After working on a computer for so long, it was important that my students were able to work hands on so that they're academic skills can sky rocket. Since we couldn't share manipulatives and activities, having a colored printer allowed me to print off many copies of different activities that the students can all use and learn with.
With the purchase of my new printer, I was able to print off engaging center activities for the students to work with while enhancing and accelerating the skills we have been working on all year.”

Funded Feb 11, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my project. As you are aware, teaching through a pandemic has been anything but easy. Teaching Kindergarten virtually has been a challenge. Students are easily distracted and learning is hard when there are not opportunities for hands on learning. Sitting in front of a computer many hours a day is a challenge for adults, never mind young children who need hands on, engaging activities.
This project has helped me purchase engaging yet thought provoking activities that align directly with the Common Core Standards and our districts curriculum. They have been the perfect activities to supplement the workbooks that our district couldn't provide to students while learning virtually. Students were able to learn and make so much progress academically while using these materials.
To make these activities takes a lot of time. Planning engaging lessons and reinventing what I have been doing for so long was very time consuming. These pre made activities helped me balance work and family life so that I was able to give my all to my students.”

Funded Sep 9, 2015Thank you very much again for donating to our class's project. It has been a great asset to our classroom.
The colored printer is used in our classroom when making engaging reading and math center activities and games. Students are more engaged when learning materials are presented to them in bright colors. The more engaged the students are, the more skills they learn. Currently, our students have been recognized by the regional superintendent for making significant academic gains!
Besides using the printer to create engaging activities and games, we use the color printer to print out leveled readers. The students are more excited about reading when they are reading books with colored pictures compared to books with black and white pictures. Reading fluency has increased since we were able to print off leveled readers.
In the classroom, we also use the color printer to print out eye catching posters around our room. The posters are used to foster a print rich environment and to reinforce skills that have been taught (math adding/subtracting strategies, blends, vowel sounds, shapes, teen numbers, monthly word wall words, etc..) The students refer to these posters regularly to help them during reading and writing workshop as well as math centers.
We are so pleased with the progress of our students. Thanks to YOU, we have the ability to make fun and engaging colorful activities and learning tools to help our students learn and master all the skills necessary to promote to the next grade!”

Mrs. Tatro
