As we come together to do small group work, students are often worried about being put on the spot. This worry often causes agitation. Wobble chairs allow students to get out their wiggles while focusing on the work to be done. These chairs would remain at the small group table. A couch and bean bags give the classroom a more diverse feeling. Students can utilize these areas for individual reading times and for group collaboration. Being able to find a physical space that is comfortable gives students more time to focus on their work rather than their physical comfort. My goal is to offer an environment that meets the needs of my students to teach them how to work collaboratively and independently. I want to create a classroom that is welcoming to all, a place where students want to come and spend their time.
