  • Hands on Math

    Funded Dec 14, 2020

My students were delighted to be able to use all these hands-on Math materials. Thank you to all whom help make this project possible.

My students expanded their learning on geometric shapes, numbers, patterning counting and measuring. With the materials we received we also were able to collaborate with our special needs students.

Now my students see math all around them daily! And my students will be able to notice it because of the activities they were able to use. They had a blast with them!! Especially because hands-on activities tend to be the best for children of this age group( 3-5 year olds.)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Robles

  • Excited to Learn

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Due to COVID 19 we had to do distant learning. Which means students had to stay home and teachers had to teach them from home as well.

The easel was a great source for students to see what was being taught. Since they are 3-5 year olds and most of them are visual learners The easel made it easier to teach them online.

I was able to use it as a wipe of board for directive drawing, a flannel board for story time and props and for math and letter knowledge! It had many uses not only were my students excited about the new easel but so were the parents! Thank you very much for your support in these students education!”

    With gratitude,

  • Future Explorers

    Funded Jun 20, 2022

My students and I would like to thank you for supporting us with this project! They now have the opportunity to be able to explore and get the hands-on experiences to learn from. With luck they will find many insects and be able to learn more about them this summer/ fall! We thank you for making this possible. I am excited to be able to use these materials with my students as soon as we receive them!”

  • Hooray for Supplies!

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

Thank you very much for all your help and support during these difficult times! All my students were able to receive their supplies and be able to do their activities via Zoom! The families were so excited to pick up their bags full of items! From glue sticks to construction paper, to scissors and buttons. Everything helped to make it easier on all the families and students to learn from home. We are very appreciative of your generosity and your understanding during these difficult hardship times for all!”

  • Communication Made Easier

    Funded May 12, 2020

Thank you to all for your donations! My students and I were able to continue our lessons and learning.

I was able to communicate and do lessons by virtual "Zoom." Our year ended with a Virtual culmination party and the computer was greatly useful! We made it just like our normal culmination with songs, recognitions , certificates etc. I got lots of positive feed back from parents. I was even able to make a PowerPoint with photos during the school year and show everyone! That was a big hit!! Thank you again for making this possible.

I am now getting ready for the new school year and I will definitely continue using the chrome book for distant learning!”

  • Little Einsteins Learn Technology

    Funded Dec 11, 2019

This school year was challenging not only for us teacher but also for our students and parents. My students come primarily from low-income families. The preschool program serves a total of 48 students. 24 of them with special needs and 24 general education.

Many of these students/families don't have all the necessities or supplies and technology in their homes. The iPads I received from this great program (Donors Choose) and the people that sponsor /donate helped 3 of my students during distant learning. I was able to lend out the technology for the rest of the school year. My students were delighted because they were going to be able to join in our zoom meetings and continues learning from home. Thank you to all, I couldn't have done this possible for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Robles

  • Families Are Teachers Too!

    Funded Sep 30, 2019

My students and I are thankful to all who helped make this project a success! Once the materials arrived, we immediately began to make use of them.

Every week a few students take the bags home to share with their families.

It is very nice to see how excited my students are to be able to take "Homework" home with them. It's almost equally exciting to see the parents putting time into helping their child since we now have adequate supplies to utilize.

Parents have gained the opportunity to reinforce lessons taught in the class, at home. The students return to school talking about the lessons they worked on and what they did with the family.

Thanks to all and Donors Choose!”

Thank you very much for supporting our project! You all have made a big difference on the health of my students! They enjoy playing outdoors and balancing themselves on the walking beams. The students are able to develop their large motor skills. Their coordination has developed in many of my students. When we go outdoors they enjoy tossing the beanbags and using the toss cones. My students and I would like to thank you for making this possible! With great gratitude from all of us at San Miguel !

    Mrs. Robles

My students will learn healthy and nutritional values. Materials like kitchen furniture (stove, refrigerator, sink, and microwave) will help increase and encourage children's social-emotional and language development. This will be something essential that my classroom will utilize on an everyday basis. Many children in my program experience my classroom as their first time outside their own home. For children who are considered disadvantaged because of their family’s low-income status, this will be a great learning experience to be able to pretend using these materials in class. I will encourage self-eating habits and help them refine fine motor skills. Children will have the opportunity to dress-up, pretend cooking, eating, and cleaning up the kitchen in the dramatic play area. This will increase their awareness of nutritional and healthy eating. They will also learn to help others at home in the kitchen which will assist them in their social-emotional and language development skills.
