Teachers Gotta Teach, Kids Gotta Play
Funded Jan 26, 2021Thank you so much for your donations to this project! It literally couldn't come at a better time for my class! We will be starting back 5 days face to face on Monday and recess waa going to be a struggle as students still need to remain socially distanced. These materials are going to help so much! Thank you very much! I can't wait for my students' reaction to the news!”

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for helping me provide my students with these wonderful end of the year gifts and summer workbooks to continue their learning from home! By giving them resources like books, a standards-based review workbook, and writing materials, my students will be able to continue their learning while being away from school. This will keep them in the right mindset for when schools do reopen.
My students were so excited when they received these gifts and when they found out the gifts were able to be purchased because of generous people like you, they were extremely thankful. So thank you, again!
It has been a trying end to our school year and a way that none of us wished would have happened, but being able to see my students one more time and seeing the joy on their faces when they opened their doors was the greatest gift of all. I wouldn't have been able to do it without your help!”

Funded Jul 29, 2019My students enjoy seeing the new items that are being made using the heat press. We have started a new thing where each week a student is chosen as student if the week and they get to carry the bag around so everyone else knows about their honor. I also have the birthday bag and am currently working on other projects like personalizing shirts, etc.
The students really loved seeing the new bags and they are excited to get their chance to carry it.
Next steps are to continue using these projects for student and classroom personalization as well as having the students come up with ideas on different things to create.”

Funded Jul 29, 2019My students are using the flex seating options during the day when we have our reading stations or writing time. Students can choose which flex seating options they want to use and they switch around throughout the week to give everyone a chance to use them.
My students thought the flex seating options were the coolest things they had ever seen and they could not wait until it was there turn to use them! They have loved getting to use the seats and are asking about getting more for everyone else to be able to use at the same time.
Next steps for the classroom would be to get some more flex seating options so everyone can have something to use during stations or writing. Thank you so much for your generous donations! We all greatly appreciate it!”

Getting Crafty With Cricut
Funded Jul 25, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students are able to get a lot of use out of this project. So far, we have chosen things around the room to label, as in the beginning of the year, we focused on labeling our classroom. The students helped me pick things that needed to be labeled, and we also came up with ways to display our school character traits and a behavior management system.
The students are amazed by everything the cricut can create and they are excited to find out what all we get to do through the year. They are always wanting to add something new to our classroom.
The next steps with this project are for students to use the cricut to create posters for an animal habitat. We will also be using it to create holiday crafts and to make cards for a nursing home in our area.”

Funded May 6, 2019My students and I use these resources to help keep materials organized. This makes it easier for students to find what they need and it helps me get things organized for daily lessons so I'm not searching for things I need.
My students thought the materials were so pretty and really like the way it made the room feel. They always talk about how nice the room looks. When they need to get something, they can easily find it.
The next steps for my students are to do more with creating personalized projects and getting more experience with technology items that past projects have provided my class.”

Be Detectives and Artists With Osmo
Funded May 12, 2019Thank you so much for donating to this project! My favorite project this year has been my Osmo devices for the students to use during workstations. They have gotten so much use out of the various games and they are constantly asking when they can get on the Osmo again. When I introduced them to the new extension packs, they were thrilled!! The creative kit for the Osmo has been really neat to see in use, as the students are able to get creative and learn how to draw various pictures. They then can save their picture and watch a fast-motion video of what it looked like when they were drawing. The detective kit has so many uses, and we are excited to experience each one. In this kit, the students use clues to find their way around a map. The students are learning cooperation skills, using context clues, and inferencing to help them make their way through the games.
The most exciting part of these products is the ability to do even more with a tool that they already love so much. The students are excited to learn new things through the extension packs and get even more time using the Osmo.
All of my students have warmed up to this technology because of how much they have enjoyed the regular Osmo kits. This is truly a great piece of technology and we are excited to have so many different kits now, thanks to you!!”

Funded May 12, 2019My students thoroughly enjoyed using these resources for their Osmos! We were able to start using each separate game to see how it works and what the goals are. For the next school year, my students will be able to use these during their math and reading workstations to further their experience with coding.
My students were so excited to see new games to use with the Osmo. The Osmo system is already a huge class favorite, so for them to get new games to use with it, they were very excited. I was able to take half of a day to go through each new game and let all of my students have a chance to play through them with each other.
My next steps are to get new flexible seating options for my students to use, especially when they are in small groups or partnerships using the Osmo system. They love to go down on the floor with the Osmo, but having comfortable and fun seating options would really make it that much more exciting!”

Funded Mar 25, 2019Thank you so much for donating towards my project for a Microsoft Surface Go! This piece of technology can be used in many different ways in the classroom. My students are able to use it during small group reading with me to work on improving reading strategies through various reading websites and apps. We have also used the Surface Go to take pictures and videos of things happening in and around our classroom and school. The students then work with me to put the pictures and videos clips together to make a movie that can be viewed by parents. Next year, my students will be able to use the Surface Go to create a project that will be displayed at our district Tech Fair.
My students love working with iPads and other tablets, but what excites them most about this one is the ability to use regular websites and tools that they would use on a computer. They do not typically have access to technology like the Surface Go at home, so being able to use something totally new is very exciting for them. They are also able to use the keyboard to practice typing skills when making projects,
My gifted students have really warmed up to this new technology because they are able to extend their learning and use their skills to create projects that they were not able to do before since they did not have access to technology like this. Thank you again for your contributions! We greatly appreciate it.”

Funded Jan 14, 2017Thank you for providing more books to my classroom! These books, along with the CD for listening to the stories have provided countless opportunities for my students and will continue to for the upcoming school years. When the students have the opportunity to listen to a story read to them, they are able to hear what a fluent reader sounds like. A lot of my students do not get this opportunity at home due to their parents' level of education as well as the large Hispanic population in my classroom, whose parents are not able to speak English. Therefore, the more chances my students have to listen to reading, the better reader they will become.
Reading in my classroom is done as much as possible throughout the day. These books that you all so graciously donated are used during workstation time. This is a chance for students to break apart into small groups and work with each other on reading skills and strategies. These books and CDs are used to provide reading fluency to my students.
All of my students have thoroughly enjoyed reading and listening to these new books! Thank you again for donating to this project and giving my students the best chances to excel in reading.”
