Thank you for your support and generosity. Thanks to your donation the students have been able to learn how to play rhythms on their buckets.
We have covered different styles of music and how percussion instruments play a key role in making music.
The students are taught how to hold their sticks and how to play different patterns of rhythms in class. The students are excited to play with their hands and sticks.
We are now able to all play together and enjoy creating beautiful music together as a result of the donation you so generously made. Thank you from all of us at South Miami Heights Elementary.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community & an Anonymous Partner and 4 other donors.

The use of the sticks and a drum set would be like Christmas for these kids. It will enhance their confidence and self esteem. Research shows that learning to play a musical instrument enhances parts in the brain that cannot be done in other subjects. Student engagement and the ability to explore and develop their unique creativity. In addition, students are more likely to go to school when they’re empowered to learn and have something they’re passionate about. Music will increase their ability to read, focus, work with others and confidence. I can’t express what a gift this would be.
