Reading is more than comprehension and passing a test. It is a shared experience. Students will discuss, share thoughts and ideas about the diverse characters of A Raisin in the Sun. Dreams, wishes and goals are part of each generation and culture. Working in small and whole class groups, students will learn from the past and apply to now. Reading is a safe way for students to 'practice' and work through problems each may face in the real world. Through writing and discussion students can learn from the characters and each other as they prepare for life beyond high school.
