Expanding the Personalized and Inclusive School Library
Funded Oct 26, 2020Thank you again for helping our library grow. I have had a lot of fun unboxing the books (and labeling them) and entertaining questions from students about what new books we have received. We have been able to send books home through the use of digital sign-outs and having families pick them up or the school drops them off.
I had one student briefly go into the library and found a new book of interest almost immediately thanks to your generous donations. I hope that the student will continue to find books they identify with and enjoy.
Thank you again for your amazing support.”

Library Update: Student Requests
Funded Mar 4, 2020I am so incredibly thankful for your kindness. I know COVID-19 threw a bit of a wrench into this project but I hope students will be able to enjoy the books they requested this coming school year.
I look forward to students asking what is in the library, reading during lunch or at home and learning to love the imagination and creativity that only books can inspire. Because of you, I get to watch students grow as imaginative thinkers and confident readers.
As we begin to settle into the new normal, I look forward to sharing how this project looks in action.”

Funded Sep 16, 2020My students were so thrilled to receive their own sketchbook to help their creative sides grow.
Some of our new items have already been put to use. I have students looking over colored pencil basics and growing their skills based on that wonderful guidebook you helped provide.
I have had another student settle on a project to better their ability to draw manga and using that guidebook to help with that.
I am so excited to see what amazing things they will do with the wonderful new supplies we have.”

Funded Mar 4, 2020With COVID-19 and school closure in the spring, students didn't get to dive straight into these scholastic magazines. We have also been gifted the digital versions of Scholastic which should make it viable to use these wonderful resources this year.
With each specific magazine, I hope to see readers from all areas of interest grow and become enlightened. Because of your generosity and kindness, that is an easier step to take.
These magazines may be used in work on annotating, discussing main ideas, or learning how to concisely share out opinions or facts based on what we've read. They could also be used for enriched reading resources.”

Funded Jan 23, 2020Thank you for supporting my students. Their focus can be on what matters, and not on hunger. Everyone has a clearer focus on their education. No student should go hungry. Even if that hunger is just a peckish feeling, my students deserve to be able to focus and succeed in all of their classes.
The snacks have revived our room and students have respectfully requested snacks as needed. Thank you for providing them this support again.
They have also explored new and sometimes healthier food options, which is all thanks to you.
Thank you for offering new food options for my students.”

Teacher Library: Trauma Informed Care and Trauma Sensitive Classrooms
Funded May 3, 2019These books and resources mean so much to me and my team. It is so important to us to continue to grow and try our best to understand what our youth is going through and be better people from the knowledge that we will gain from these items.
Our hope is to be more responsive in a positive and productive light when we realize our students may be acting or reacting because of trauma they may have or are currently experiencing. By reading and utilizing these resources, we grow as individuals, teams, and as a community. Our students will also benefit from what we have learned and what some of these activities will provide for them as well.
Thank you so much for providing us access to these materials and allowing us to become better individuals.”

Snack Smart: Tiger Treats
Funded Jul 17, 2019There is a buzz in my classroom because of the Amazon boxes. As soon as they were opened, it was joy and jubilation and questions of "When can I get snack?" Now the snack closet is set up. Despite it not being in a closet, students are ready for success and engagement here at Tiger Ventures.
Thank you so much for supporting my students' success this year. I know they will be able to start strong with a good and healthier snack option. There is also a lot of choice so many dietary needs can be met. My students are lucky to have kind individuals like you in our community.”

The Artist's Delight: Tablet and Software
Funded Feb 6, 2019My students are lining up to use the new WACOM tablet and software! I mean it! They are excited to people to bring their artwork into the digital realm and have real practice with tools that are used by artists around the world.
Seeing them be fluent with this type of technology and software is heartwarming. They are teaching me how to use it and I get to appreciate their warmth and creativity because of the care you have shown us. I have seen small glimpses of artwork so far and cannot wait to see what comes next.
Thank you for supporting my artists and photographers with your kindness.”

Funded Dec 14, 2018Receiving the materials to make a dedicated library area in our school has been such a relief and joy. I know our students will easily find books and texts they connect with due to your kindness and thoughtfulness.
I have had an influx of students borrowing books and asking for more texts that interest them. Which was exactly what I had hoped for when asking for these materials.
I am so incredibly thankful to you for giving my students an easier opportunity to see and find books they love. Thank you so much.”
