These books will be added to my read aloud and classroom libraries. My two classes will be able to read a variety of books in Spanish in order to increase their literacy and broaden their cultural understanding. They will also see themselves reflected in some of the fiction stories. Nonfiction topics will be more accesible to them since the Time for Kids books come in a range of reading levels.
Students will be able to choose from a variety of fiction and nonfiction books in Spanish in order to read independently at their own reading level.
Students are more enthusiastic about reading when they are able to choose books that interest them and are at their own level. This will hopefully increase their reading stamina and their love of reading. Not to mention, maintain their native language, or for some, develop a second language.
