  • Focus in Every Sound: Headphones for Every Student!

    Funded Nov 4, 2024

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support in funding our headphone project. Thanks to your contributions, my students now have access to the tools they need to succeed in their learning, and I'd like to share how these headphones have made a significant impact.

In our classroom, headphones are essential for creating a focused, individualized learning environment. Many lessons involve multimedia resources, online platforms, and interactive activities that require sound. With the new headphones, students can engage with these resources without distractions from the surrounding classroom noise. This allows them to concentrate better and absorb information, which is particularly important as they work at their own pace.

The excitement my students feel about the headphones is clear. For many, it's the ability to immerse themselves in videos, lessons, and games that brings a new dimension to their learning. The comfort and high-quality sound have made a big difference, and they are eager to use them every day.

Several students have especially warmed to the new technology. One student who struggles to stay focused in larger groups has found the headphones help him concentrate during lessons. Others who are sensitive to noise can now engage with lessons without distraction, and the ability to control the volume gives them more control over their learning environment.

The impact of these headphones has been felt by the entire class. From quieter students who are now more confident in participating in audio-based activities, to those who benefit from the independence these headphones provide, the technology has enhanced their learning experience in ways I hadn't imagined.

Once again, thank you for making this possible. Your support has had a lasting, positive effect on my students' education, and I'm deeply grateful for your contribution.”

  • Magnetic Marvels: Hands-On Learning Adventures!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

My students are absolutely thrilled with their new magnetic whiteboards and manipulatives! In our first math unit, we've been exploring multiplication through arrays, and the magnetic manipulatives have made the learning process even more engaging. Being able to physically build arrays and write out their skip-counts has provided my students with invaluable hands-on learning experiences, significantly enhancing their understanding.

From the moment the materials arrived, my students couldn't contain their excitement. The discovery that the whiteboards were magnetic sparked even more curiosity, and they couldn't wait to dive into activities using the manipulatives and magnetic letters.

In addition to math, I'm excited to integrate the magnetic letters into our reading workshop, where students will use them during phonics lessons and to practice high-frequency words. This will further support their literacy development in a fun and interactive way.”

  • School Supplies for Daily Work!

    Funded May 11, 2024

My students are truly excited to use their new resources every day! We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation of school supplies, including pencils, erasers, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, rulers, folders, composition books, and plastic storage boxes. I've organized these materials into supply caddies so that each group in the classroom can easily access what they need. The folders are being utilized to organize and store students' writing samples, while the composition notebooks will be distributed for students to keep as personal journals for their reflections and creative writing at home.

When my students first saw these supplies on the first day of school, their faces lit up with excitement. It was wonderful to see their relief and joy at having the necessary materials already provided, as many students come to school without their own supplies.

One of the engaging math lessons we're working on involves creating a "city of arrays." For this activity, students will use rulers to draw straight lines, crayons to color their cities, scissors to cut out their array drawings, and glue sticks to assemble their arrays into a cohesive city. This hands-on project not only reinforces their math skills but also makes learning enjoyable and interactive.

We are truly thankful for your support.”

  • We Need Comfortable Cushions!

    Funded Oct 9, 2019

When my students first saw the floor cushions, their faces lit up with excitement. Some students cheered, and they could not stop talking about how excited they were to use them. They were all very happy to know that they no longer had to sit on the hard, tiled floor.

The floor cushions have made a great impact on my students. They bring their cushions to the floor during whole group instruction every day, and they are now more comfortable sitting in one spot for 15-20 minutes at a time. In addition, students use the cushions to complete group work on the floor. Lastly, students are using their floor cushions to read in our classroom reading area during independent reading.

Later this month, my students will be working on a science project in which they must construct a compound machine. My students will be using the floor cushions to be able to work on the floor comfortably as they build their compound machines. The floor cushions will continue to make a great impact on my students this year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chino

My classroom rug was destroyed over the summer, and my students are currently sitting on tiled floor. They sit on the floor multiple times a day for 10-15 minutes at a time. They are quickly uncomfortable, and it disrupts their learning. My students have asked for cushions to sit on to replace our seating issue. I am requesting 4 crates of KinderMats for my students. Each student will have a mat to sit on during our whole group instruction. The cushions will allow students to sit comfortably on the floor and their learning will not be disrupted. Thank you for helping my students and my classroom.
