As a first year teacher for our school system, but I am no stranger to the need for supplies in these schools. I worked as an Administrative Assistant for 14 years in this school system and I changed my career to better service the children. I am teaching 1st graders this year and super excited especially to teach my 1st graders how to read with a purpose. However the carpet I do have is ripped stained and very torn and as a first year teacher I do not have any grade appropriate learning activities. Carpet reading time is essential for first graders to have a personal exciting experience when learning to read with a purpose. This setting allows students to discuss and have an intimate views of what the story means to them. I also need a teaching easel. A mobile teaching easel allows students to have an interactive learning experience any section of the room to include close reading and echo reading. Solving and answering questions through presentation.
