I teach at a inner city specialty school. My students are all part of the International Baccalaureate Program. This program is all about the highest standards, differentiated assessments, classic and modern texts. My students are risk takers academically learning the skills needed to compete in a global society. They immerse themselves in six areas of study over a two year period. They leave high school as thinkers more than prepared to tackle post high school work.
The school is diverse with a combination of arts and college prep classes. The school is an amazing experiment in diversity. We do not have much in the way of funding because we do not meet standard need requirements, but books and supplies are always a need. We want our students to be the height of modern academics and we need books and supplies that fit that need.
