Community and Connection Through the Art of Photography
Funded May 5, 2025I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation. The students have been connecting so much through the images I take. Some of them have been learning how to use the camera and taking their own images. I have been going to lots of school sporting events and taking photos of the action and portraits for the students. It has become a real gift for my classroom and students.”

Care, Connection, and Community Through Photography
Funded Oct 10, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution, which allowed me to purchase high-quality photography equipment for my work with [School Name/Program Name]. Your support has made a profound impact, enabling me to create lasting memories for our migrant students through professional senior portraits.
These portraits are more than just photographs; they are a celebration of resilience, achievement, and the incredible journeys our students have undertaken. For many of these young people, senior pictures are a rare opportunity to feel seen and valued. Your kindness has given them a chance to treasure this milestone in their lives, share it with loved ones, and carry it with pride into the future.
The new photography gear has elevated the quality of these portraits, ensuring that each student receives an image that reflects their unique spirit and personality. Watching their faces light up when they see their photos is truly priceless, and it's all thanks to your generosity.
On behalf of myself, my students, and their families, thank you for your belief in this project and for your willingness to invest in our community. Your support not only provides beautiful photographs but also serves as a powerful reminder to these students that they are cared for and celebrated.
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. If you'd like, I'd be delighted to share some examples of the work your support has made possible (with student and family permission, of course). Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like updates on this project.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Adams

Funded Sep 26, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of high-interest graphic novels to my classroom. Your support has had a profound impact on my students, many of whom are migrants and refugees navigating the challenges of adapting to a new language, culture, and environment.
These graphic novels have opened a world of possibilities for my students. The combination of compelling visuals and relatable stories has made reading more accessible and enjoyable for them. For many of my students, these books are not just a source of learning but also a gateway to self-expression, imagination, and a sense of belonging.
One student recently shared that they saw themselves reflected in a story for the first time, which inspired them to write about their own journey. Another student, who was previously hesitant to pick up a book, now eagerly reaches for these novels during free reading time. These moments of connection and discovery are invaluable in building their confidence and fostering a love for learning.
Your thoughtful donation has transformed our classroom library into a safe and inspiring space where students can see their own experiences validated while exploring new ideas and perspectives. It is difficult to overstate the difference you have made in their educational journey and emotional well-being.
Thank you for believing in my students and supporting their growth through such meaningful resources. Your kindness and generosity have truly made a difference, and we are deeply appreciative.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Adams

Funded Sep 18, 2024This is one of the coolest things that has happened to me in all of my years of teaching. This last summer I fell in love with the photograph as a means to tell a story. This year I have brought a camera into the school and have been using it as a tool to connect with students who can at times be very difficult to connections with. We all know that students learn best when they feel valued and cared for and never in my 17 years of teaching have I seen any tool more useful at creating connections than photography. The students have been loving getting such high quality photos of them around the school, on the sports field and the like. So many students come to me for simple pictures that lift their spirits and create such a deeper connection the the school and each other.
I cannot thank you enough for the very generous gift you have given my school. Thank you so so much.”

Mr. Adams

Funded Jul 19, 2024I cannot thank you enough for the gift you have given my classroom and the students who spend so much of their lives in it working so hard to better themselves and their world. Perhaps you do not know the specifics of what we do here, so I will give a short description. I teach migrants and refugees English and reading. I so much of what we do revolves around reading and before I was not using donors choose, I had to use digital copies of things or print things out. But now, thanks to you, students have physical copies of books they are learning to love. This year we have already used these books every day. Students have individual book projects they do for my class and without the gifts from you it would be more difficult. We do have a school library, but for newcomers, it can be a challenge to navigate. Having the books in class allows us to just walk to the self and not worry about losing a book and getting fined from the school.
The students are so happy to have books in Spanish. The library here does not have very many books in Spanish and these are what they are pulled towards the most. Many of my students have never read a book, and so having books in their language is a great entry point to reading. This creates a culture of reading in my classroom that I am loving to see.
Again thank you so much for your donation. These books will be loved by hundreds of students every year for decades to come.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Adams

Funded Feb 24, 2024Thank you so much for you kindness and generosity. Because of you and others like you, my classroom is becoming a haven of relevant books for students at my school. I work primarily with migrants and refugees and your donations has directly impacted the most vulnerable people in our society. It is such a gift when something like this happens. The other day I over heard a student mention they write poetry. i spoke with her about this and was able to lend her one of my favorite poets. She was thrilled for the connection we shared with our love of poetry and was excited to be introduced to a new writer.
Without people like you, these small beautiful occurrences would not happen. With a little faith and experience, I know these are small life changing things that happen in students lives.”
