  • Storing Our Knowledge

    Funded Jan 28, 2012

Thank you again for you generous donations to my third grade classroom. My students were so excited about these materials. They were excited about fluency! With the microphones, we have been able to record their reading intonation and fluency. They have been able to hear themselves and improve their fluency "so they won't sound funny." With the use of the external hard drive, I have been able save a lot more of their recordings without worrying if there was enough space for the next student.

Thank you again for you generosity. You have truly helped to make a difference in the lives of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Sanchez

  • Beyond the Galaxy!

    Funded Feb 1, 2012

Thank you all for the wonderful donations that came from each and every single one of you. Your donations made Beyond the Galaxy a success. We have used the Samsung Galaxy Tab in many activities in the classroom. We used it to practice our multiplication facts as we enter the class. It has been used as a center with students reading along. Students enjoy working with the tablet individually and as a group.

Thank you again for your generosity. It is heart-warming to see there are still a lot of people that care about public education. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Sanchez

  • Literacy Through Listening

    Funded Dec 15, 2011

Thank you all so much for the donations you gave to complete our project. The listening center is up and running. The students are now able to listen to the anthology selections with the voice of a professional narrator and many times, by the author themselves. The students enjoy the new headphones and do not complain that only one side is audible. Also, it has brought a sense of ownership and independence to the students. They go to the center on their own and set up their listening assignment using the iPod playlists I have created.

The students and I really appreciate the all of the time and effort you gave to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Sanchez

My students are third graders in California. Many are second language learners. They come from an economically disadvantaged neighborhood, but they are filled with curiosity and a desire to learn. They come to school everyday, full of questions. I truly look forward to working with them everyday. I know if you could meet them, you would look forward to working with them too.
