An Apple A Day Keeps Boredom Away
Funded Jan 17, 2024Integrating iPads into the gifted classroom can have a transformative impact on the learning experiences of students with exceptional intellectual abilities. These devices provide a versatile platform that fosters personalized and interactive learning. iPads allow gifted students to explore advanced educational apps, access online courses, and delve deeper into their areas of interest, tailoring their education to their unique learning styles. The portability and flexibility of iPads facilitate independent research, enabling students to pursue individual projects and engage in self-directed learning. Collaborative opportunities are also enhanced, as students can work together on innovative projects, fostering teamwork and creative problem-solving. Furthermore, iPads help bridge the digital divide, ensuring that all gifted students, regardless of socio-economic background, have equal access to cutting-edge educational tools. Overall, the introduction of iPads in the gifted classroom opens up new horizons, empowering students to unleash their full potential and prepare for a future driven by technology and innovation.”

Back to the Future
Funded May 3, 2022Thank you sincerely from the bottom of our hearts for gifting us with the Oculus Quest Headsets. This has been a game changer for our lessons. Students are engaged like never before. Students are totally immersed into a virtual reality field trip that they would not have experienced otherwise. Students are excited to come into my classroom because they never know where we are headed, literally. Hands-on and challenging projects are what keeps my students going strong and helps them to show their true potential. I love seeing my students shine and show interest in their education.”

Funded Dec 14, 2021First, I would like to thank you for your generous donations. It is so encouraging to know that you are supported. Education is a calling and a passion of mine that I like to keep current and exciting for my students. Without people like you donating to the cause, it would not be possible. I cannot wait to see their faces when we turn bananas, Play-Doh, and anything their heart desires (within reason of course haha) into a computer program. I hope this sparks a love for technology and coding to which they'll pursue a career and future in that field. Thank you again. Words just cannot express how grateful we are.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020First, I want to thank you for your willingness to give. 2020 has been a tough year, physically, mentally, spiritually, financially, but it's people like you that make a tough year better. My gifted students are always working on hands on projects, so having a set of adult scissors for everyone is amazing. Also, they love playing mindbender board games. the two that we have purchased through Donors Choose are their new favorite. They play these when they finish early with their projects. Lastly, the mindbender books allow them to keep using their gifted brain power that they would not use otherwise in their regular classrooms. Thank you and may God bless you for your thoughtfulness.”

Funded Dec 31, 2020First let me thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your gift. 2020 has been a year of trouble and turmoil, but people like you still doing good even when things are so bad make teaching future generations better. There is hope. It was such a surprise to have my project funded on New Years Eve. It was a great way to end such a bad year. My students are so excited about our paint projects and the color choices that they have to use. One project that we are doing with the paint is to make wire hanger structures with panty hose. The students will paint the panty hose with Gesso and make an abstract structure to take home to keep for many years to come. Again, thank you so very much. God bless you and your thoughtful gift.”

Funded Oct 8, 2020Thanks to your support of American History and the importance of students understanding our voting process, my students will be able to have this love as well. Students are going to be able to have hands-on, real-world American History and Current Events lessons and projects that will hopefully make them love America even more, as well as make them model citizens for our future. As you know children are our future, and it's important to give them opportunities to show just how great they are and it's important to know where we came from so they do not make the same mistakes. Thank you again.”

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you for helping to make this year, 2020, just a little bit better. With the Corona Virus, it is essential that students have their own computer and supplies to help keep the spread down. It is such a blessing to have the support of your community during this unprecedented time. With your donations, we were able to get another Chromebook to support our efforts in going 1:1. I now have 9 computers for students to use, and we're just 3 Chromebooks shy of being 1:1 in the gifted classroom. Again, thank you for your support and stay safe!”

Funded Aug 24, 2018I currently have 3 classroom computers for students to use. While I am extremely grateful for these computers, it just isn't enough to service my students. Being a gifted and talented teacher, I typically will teach 10-15 students in a class period. Thanks to being able to get funded through Donors Choose, we now have 4 more Chromebooks. Although we are not one to one yet, hopefully one day we will get there. My students and myself are extremely thankful for donors and parents that have donated their hard earned money to our classroom and furthering our educational experiences. Thank you again.”
