The Kindergartners in my classroom are a hard working bunch of kids. Each day they come into my classroom excited and ready to learn. One of the biggest challenges in our classroom this year was letter identification. The hard work from the students and their families is obvious, we collaborated together on this goal and I am proud to say that all of my students have reached 100% mastery of letter identification and letter sounds! To keep this momentum in Reading Workshop we have been practicing many letter identification and sight words strategies. By the end of the year I want all of my students to reach 100% mastery of our list of our 55 high frequency sight words and continue to work on their reading phonemic awareness and fluency skills.
