We meet often on the carpet of my classroom where the students are up close and can feel a sense of community as we learn. Having a friendly, colorful rug to sit on would help my students know exactly where their space to sit is and would help our transitions to and from the rug, run more smoothly. I would like to be able to strategically place students on certain colors at the carpet to alleviate problems which occur when students have a hard time sitting responsibly by certain other students. Being excused from the carpet to go back to seats could be done by color as well, which would help maintain some order and organization.
