  • Flex-Space 4 Us!

    Funded Mar 7, 2022

My students and I were so ecstatic to learn that the project was funded due to your kind and generous donations.

These seats provide my students with comfy seating options through the class. My students grab a comfy seat and move it to a space in the class where they can call their own and sit comfortably to read with a book in hand or while using their iPads. Additionally, my students have been able to use these flexible seats when they need to collaborate with their peers. It's really nice to see students grab a seat and sit in a group just about anywhere in the class. Again, thank you for making our class project a reality.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Dominguez

  • Let’s Get Organized Part 2

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

I want to take this opportunity to share with you just how grateful my class and I are for your kind and generous donations which helped make our class project a reality. As you may know already that our current in-person learning is quite different than in the past so finding ways to manage classroom learning materials has been a top priority especially being that students need their learning tools within reach and easy to access. The mobile 8-tray organizer that you helped fund not only helps my students stay organized but it is also reduces the time spent looking for needed items in order to learn. Again, thank you for bringing the mobile 8-tray organizer to life in our classroom.”

  • Let’s Get Organized!

    Funded Sep 29, 2021

I want to take this opportunity to share with you just how grateful we (myself and students) are for your kind and generous donation which helped make our class project a reality. Our current in-person learning is quite different than in the past so finding ways to manage classroom learning materials was a top priority especially being that students need their learning tools within reach and easy to access.... And the mobile tray organizer that you helped fund not only helps my students stay organized but it is also reduces the time spent looking for needed items in order to learn. • Need TWO SCREENS? I Do!

    Funded Mar 8, 2021

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind and generous donation. My class project, "Need TWO SCREENS?" would not have become a reality had it not been for your support.

As a teacher we are very hands on and depend so much from the use of our class resources and tools. As you know, the lock-down put a spin to our teaching habits and abilities. And for many such as myself, we found ourselves in a reality that one could ever imagine, teaching from home with little resources. One resource/tool that I never really thought about was a desktop screen. Why would I if I have the convenience of a sleek laptop? Well, try teaching to 24 students... presenting and viewing students simultaneous was exhausting. But with your kind support, I was able to make swift changes that helped make teaching and viewing all my students (on the second screen) 100% easier and better.

So for this I will always be grateful for you support during one of the most challenging times in the history of education.”

  • Fun-dational Skills With Distance Learning For My Students!

    Funded May 15, 2020

The "Fun-dational" skills packets I put together with the project's materials and resources were just what my students needed during the pandemic. My students were so elated when they heard the news our class project got funded. They were eager to let their imagination and creativity let loose with the crayons, watercolor paints and art paper. The Daily

Sight-Word Daily Activity and Phonics Interactive Journals helped my students practice and maintain the use of foundational skills we focused on prior to the school closure Due to Covid-19.

My students, their parents, and myself are so grateful for your kind and generous support.”

  • Let It Print!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support and kind donations. Because of your wonderful efforts, our classroom was able to get 'Let it Print" funded. My students and I were SO EXCITED when we heard the news that the colored printer was waiting in the office and ready to be set up in our class to print. A lot has changed since I created "Let it Print". I have changed grade levels and our classroom needs are slightly different from the use of technology and the printing that occurs. I am currently teaching first grade and my students are working off of tablets and since its the beginning of the year we have yet to implement publishing on their tablets and printing. But, I can tell you that our printer has come in handy in our classroom. I have been able to print many colored resources for my students' (Writers' workshop folders, math practices, technology rules, interactive science worksheets for their journals, math problem-solving journals, and much more).

What excites us the most about our printer is the ease to print and the vibrant colors that appear. All my students enjoy knowing that the colored printer belongs to our classroom and that we have the ability to print any document when we need it and how we would like for it to be published (black and white or colored).

Again, thank you so much for your kind donations and helping our class project come to life.”

  • Fill My Shelf, Junie B. Jones!

    Funded Dec 17, 2017

My students and I want to thank you for your kind and generous donations. The Junie B. Jones book collection has been a great hit in my classroom and at home (from what I hear from the kids and their families). In the classroom, my students enjoy reading Junie B. Jones' humorous adventures either by themselves or with a buddy during their independent reading time or while in small groups. Some of the skills that have been implemented by my students are: summarizing in their reader's journal, sequencing story and or chapter events, reading out loud with a buddy, using a dictionary when they come across unfamiliar words, figuring out the meaning of words based on context clues, and much more.

Reading in my classroom comes in various forms. My students love to be read to by an adult such as myself or our teacher's assistant. They also enjoy reading for pleasure selecting books within their independent reading range and sometimes reading out of range (higher). Buddy reading is one form of reading my students enjoy the best because they select a book that they both can read together (having their own copy in hand) and later discuss and write in journals entries about the book and or chapters read together.

This project has really been a hit in my classroom! This book collection does not discriminate, both boys and girls find the collection amusing. My students like sharing funny book moments and how Junie B. Jones reminds them of incidents they've experienced themselves. I have a group of students that really enjoy taking books home to read either by themselves or with a parent, and the word is that they are truly enjoying reading a lot more. My students are book hooked! It warms my heart to hear my students talking about the books and how they are enjoying reading them. I know I did the right thing to post this project and with your help it became a reality for my students. So, from the bottom of my heart... I thank you all for making this project a reality.”

  • Chrome Up My Learning!

    Funded Jun 4, 2017

My students were ecstatic to receive the new HP Chromebooks. They couldn't wait to put their digital skills to use. These new HP Chromebooks have helped alleviate some of the technology issues my class has been dealing with since our class' MacBooks have become outdated and slow to upload necessary learning applications and websites.

All my students are excited to engage in small-group instruction because they know that they will rotate to use the Chromebooks. They are most excited about the speed and accessibility of academic-based applications that support their learning during small group learning sessions. During small group sessions, students are able to access learning apps that focus on phonics, word-building, and reading with the support of audio.

A couple of students have warmed up to the use of our new technology, and have become what I call my class "techies". My techies help classmates navigate through the sign-on process and guide those students that are still learning how to access learning applications on the HP Chromebooks. It's really neat to see how quickly young students warm up to new technology, and how quickly they become teachers to their peers. I can't wait to get my students working on digital projects and see their completion to showcase at our school's Open House.

Again, my students and I thank you for your kind and generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Dominguez

  • Part 2: iNeed Technology

    Funded Feb 27, 2015

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for making my project - iNeed Technology possible. Your kind and generous donations really touched my students' hearts as it did mine. My students and I were in awe when we received the MacBook Air, it was like Christmas arrived early.

We want you to know that the MacBook Air is put to use on a daily basis, from math interactive lessons to writing and creating technology projects using Keynotes, Comic Life, and experimenting with iAuthors.

Having a MacBook Air is a necessary teaching tool, and having one that is up to date and running appropriately is remarkable. My students are able to access technology integrated lessons throughout the day, and they extremely motivated and eager to learn when they see me open up my laptop to teach.

Once again I'd like to thank you for all your support and for making our class project possible for us.”

  • Toon Me Into Reading Comics!

    Funded Mar 22, 2015

I want to take this opportunity to THANK YOU SO MUCH for your kind and generous donations. I want you to know that my students were in awe to find out that your donations made this project possible for them and the classes to follow. My students said, "Toon Books are the best ever! Toon Books are the coolest books to read!"

My students are currently using Toon Books during independent and buddy reading. After students read the books they have an opportunity to measure their understanding of the book(s) read by taking an Accelerated Reader quiz. In the near future I plan on using a couple of titles during guided reading to help my students learn more about text features.

This project has truly increased my students' reading interest. My students are excited to pick up a book that is a good fit for them and discover that they are learning from comic books. I definitely know that Toon Books are great asset to our classroom library and recommend them to all primary classrooms.

Again, thank you so much for your donation!”
