Amazing Nonfiction Book Clubs
Funded Apr 12, 2013Thank you is truly not enough to express my gratitude for the donations we received that allowed our classroom to get so many wonderful nonfiction books. When I told the students that we were getting some books they were happy. Then I told them how many books we got - they were excited. When I said that they were nonfiction books that they had chosen so many months ago - they literally cheered with excitement and their joy couldn't be contained! They chatted and clapped and filled the room with smiles, guessing which books we got and what information was held within those pages of those beautiful new books. Let me just say, when the time came to open the boxes of new books and FINALLY touch and read those new books, it was a kind of happiness I had never seen before. Shouts filled the air and books were held for all to see the bright pictures and new language.
Students used these books in small book clubs where the information was read and discussed in groups of 4-5 students. Although some of the books were challenging to read, the amazing pictures and diagrams helped students access the information and learn a lot. Students then created projects about their books to present to the class and their presentations showed just how much they really learned. Students were eager to present the new information. Those presentations fueled student desire to read even more than before.
These books not only boosted student morale and excitement for reading, but gave students quality literature to interact with and discuss with their peers. Student discourse about literature increased to allow for deeper understanding and thinking about the texts.
I was so impressed with the level of discussion and reading ability that those books gave to the students. I look forward to using these books for many years in the future, with countless other students. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous donations - they are truly invaluable to schools like ours.”

Help Us Get Moving!
Funded Nov 27, 2012Thank you doesn't begin to express my deepest thanks that I have for your generous donations to our classroom.
Since the equipment has arrived, students have been SO excited for recess (not that that was SO unusual but it is nice to see motivation to get active and build friendships) and I have seen a huge increase in classroom motivation and positive behavior from the class overall. With students able to get out all of those extra "wiggles" and pent up energy, students are able to focus more positively on the class work at hand. Additionally, since the materials were donated by you, students have taken such a great level of ownership in the materials and always make sure that they are returned to use for future recesses.
Thank you for giving my students such a wonderful gift - the gift of playground equipment - so they can continue to build teamwork skills and can have a positive outlet for energy during our day.”

Mrs. Lippert
Super Series Books!
Funded Aug 24, 2012This letter is truly a small token of my gratitude for the generosity of your donations to our classroom and to our school. The class set of books that you donated are incredibly important to our classroom because they allow ALL students, regardless of reading level, have access to a book that is at a 4th grade level that we can read together. When students are exposed to higher level texts, not only are they more motivated to read to improve their own reading level, but they are exposed to higher level thinking strategies and rich vocabulary that may not otherwise have been encountered.
As schools continually face budget cuts and shortfalls, classroom sets of anything are becoming more and more rare. With your donations we were able to fund three class sets of books that will be able to be used by students for many years to come. Additionally, the books are in genres that students don't typically choose which makes them ideal for expanding literary horizons in all students.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and from my students now and into the future.”

Lovin' a Leveled Library
Funded Mar 19, 2012I am so grateful for the generous donations you've made to our classroom. Reading level has never been higher! It truly is amazing what a new set of books will do for classroom motivation. WOW!
The nonfiction books you've funded have impacted my students in an amazing way. They are eager to read nonfiction, which is a stark contrast to what reading was like when we had so many fewer books in our classroom library. Students are much more curious about the world around them when they read nonfiction, which then helps spark their zest for reading even further to answer those burning questions.
Like many schools around the country, our school is facing massive budget cuts. With the generous support of donors like you, our classroom is able to afford those materials and books that our students need and deserve to give them the best education possible. Thank you again for your continued support of education in the US.”

Marvelous Mathematicians
Funded Dec 13, 2011Thank you doesn't seems to fully express how excited and thankful I am for your generous donation to our classroom. As a first year teacher at this school I am always searching for materials to make sure all of my students are learning to their fullest potential in my classroom. This year I am trying a new format for my math block and so far the students LOVE it! The learning is going so well and students are more engaged than ever! These games, dice, calculators, and other math materials will allow that enthusiasm to continue all year long and for many years to come!
With budget cuts at every corner in education, it is important that students are supported in their learning from other avenues. Your financial support has allowed mathematics education to soar in our classroom and allow students to maximize their achievement through hands-on learning and engaging activities to support that learning as well.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. You support in invaluable in our classroom!”

Cozy Class Library
Funded Oct 6, 2011This letter is only a small token of my gratitude at the generosity you've given to our classroom. The pillows, bean bag chairs, and cushions that you helped purchase have been used every day since they arrived at the class. The students cheer when it's time to read now and ask all day long, "Is it reading time yet?" Talk about warming a teacher's heart!
With education budgets being cut at every turn, schools often don't have the resources to purchase "extras" for the classroom. With the help from generous donors, like you, you allow our classroom, and countless students in the future, to build a strong love for reading that may not otherwise be there. In third grade, there is a huge transition in reading where students are expected to read to learn materials in class and giving them the opportunity to read in a comfortable spot encourages that love every day.
Donors like you make classrooms across the country more comfortable and enjoyable for students. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Funded Apr 23, 2010This letter cannot fully describe the gratitude I feel toward you for the generous donations you made to this project. Thanks to your funding I was able to get a variety of literacy resources, pencils, erasers, and pencil sharpeners for my classroom. When the boxes arrived and the students got to see their brand-new pencils and erasers they were over the moon with excitement!
Your donation has helped my students every day since the materials were received. No longer are we trying to save the tiniest pencil nubs to write with because we have beautiful new pencils. Erasers are no longer a rare commodity and the pencil sharpener works so well, students are actually requesting to sharpen pencils at recess! Who would have thought?
The literacy resources have been invaluable to my students, especially those who struggled with reading and spelling before. The magnetic letters have allowed students to manipulate the letters quickly and easily, without having to constantly erase mistakes on paper. The phonics flip-book has allowed students to start understanding the patterns found in the English language and have thereby increased the students ability to decode words. Additionally, enjoyment for reading has greatly increased since reading has become a less difficult process!
Thank you again for your donation and the incredible impact it has on students around the country. Without people like you, students in the US would go without the necessary materials and supplies that enable them to have the best education possible. Thank you for your support of education in our country because it is truly an investment in our future.”

Listening While We Read
Funded Apr 23, 2010Words cannot fully describe how thankful I am for the donations you made to this project. Through your donations by class was able to receive books on CD with their matching books, and 5 portable CD players to listen to those stories on. What a difference these supplies have made!
Before these supplies reached our room, our reading enthusiasm had reached a stand-still - students were reading only when they absolutely had to and reading was a chore. Fluency levels were not increasing and the students oral reading was sounding like a group of robots instead of students. Since the arrival of the supplies by students can't get enough of the stories. The books are at a slightly more challenging reading level than most of my students would be able to read alone so with the help of the CD players and books on CD, the students are given access to those classic children's stories they would not otherwise have been able to read. Additionally, the students finish the books on CD and cannot wait to share the story with another student AND beg me to go to the library to check out a book from the same author.
You gift has ignited the reading spark in my classroom that would have never been lit otherwise. Due to this spark you are helping the future generation get the reading practice, help, and support they need in a fun way. Thank you again, for your generosity!”

Bringing the WORLD to Montana
Funded Feb 11, 2010Thank you so much for the valuable resources you have funded for our classroom. The materials that you have funded have allowed my students to gain a better understanding of the world around them from the small community we live in. Every day we use our new social studies materials, their world is broadened beyond the rural town in eastern Montana, which many students have not traveled beyond.
The books about mapping, Canada, Mexico, and landforms have sparked an immense interest in geography in my classroom. My students are fascinated by how big the world is, yet how similar we all are throughout the world. This realization has meant more to me than anything in the world. I love that students are looking for the similarities they have in other children, rather than the differences that their individual cultures and countries inspire. The Native American resources have also increased in understanding in their own Native American culture, as well as broadened their horizons to the many different Native American tribes that are in North America!
With our school facing budget constraints, it is fabulous to know that generous people like you have allowed my students to thrive in their cultural and geographical awareness by funding such amazing resources. With generous people like you, students throughout our country will be ready to face the world with an increased awareness of the great things the world has to offer and will be excited to experience those differences. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donations!”

Funded Dec 22, 2009This letter is a small token of appreciation for your donations to the project for my classroom. Science has been a passion of mine since elementary school and with these materials, I can now pass on that zest for scientific learning to my current and future students.
The science games are a great way for students to apply their knowledge of physical and earth science in a fun format. When I pointed out how much they are learning by using these games the majority of them said, "We weren't learning! We were just playing games!" I love that!
The science books have been an invaluable resource in our classroom. The bright pictures and child-friendly language brings the topics we have studied to life and brought much more meaning to the students than science had before. When the students ask, "When is science today?" with a smile on their face, I know the materials are helping bring that scientific excitement to my classroom.
Thanks to donors like you, my classroom is able to help foster the next generation of scientific learners. Without you, classrooms around our country would be without the supplies they need to provide their students with the best education they deserve. Thank you so much!”
