  • Bringing the Diary of Anne Frank to the Middle School Stage

    Funded Sep 11, 2008

Thank you so much for funding our project. I am very excited to give our middle school students these resources so that they can better prepare for their roles in "The Diary of Anne Frank." The students are highly motivated 6 - 8 graders who love the challenge of this play. The pencils and highlighters will be used by the actors. The dictionaries and other books will be used by over 40 crew members and 10 actors that have signed up so far to join our team. Thank you again”

  • A Stitch In Time Makes a Theatre Costume!

    Funded Jun 24, 2008

Thank you so much for your donation of a sewing machine and sewing materials to our department! Your donation will make it possible for us to make costumes for our children. We look forward to receiving the materials this fall and creating costumes for our upcoming plays: Fiddler on the Roof and The Diary of Anne Frank. Before receiving your donation, we did not have a way to put costumes together for the children. Now we will be able to allow our children to wear real costumes for their plays! Thank you again!

    Ms. Shariffskul

Our middle school drama/speech department serves kids grades 6 - 8. Our students are passionate, imaginative kids who deserve the chance to experience a creative learning environment. We have an after-school drama club program where students can participate in 2 full-length plays, improv, speech team and Thespian society. Students of all ability levels and learning types play a role in the creative process. This past year, over 90 students participated in our program. We try to find a place in our theatre for any child interested in the performing arts. Our students act, sing and dance on the stage. They learn technical skills backstage as well. Students are responsible for just about every aspect of the creative process; sound, set, props, costumes, makeup, and lights are all designed and executed by the theater students.
