  • Achieving Fluency Through Listening

    Funded Oct 21, 2011

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and contribute to our project. My students have shown progress in their reading levels because of these fluency cards. They are part of a group that rotates the days they go to the listening center. They practice reading with fluency with a partner using these amazing fluency cards. They have improved an average of 1 to 2 years in reading. None of this progress would have been possible with out your support. Thank you so much for making a difference in the lives of my students and making them feel successful.”

  • Summer Books

    Funded Jul 28, 2011

Thank you so much for your contribution to our summer reading books. My students took these books with them during the summer and read them. In September they had to recommend one of the books to their new classmates. The children have developed their own read and discuss club in which they share with each other their opinions about the books they have read. This action has increased the love for reading at our school. Students from different grades and classes come to borrow books from our library. The impact these fun and high interest books have done to our school is amazing and that is thanks to you and your participation in our project. Thank you so much!!!”

  • We Are All Inked Out!!!

    Funded May 17, 2011

Thank you so much for your contributions to our project. We are so thankful for the ink cartridges. We have been able to print out many of our published writing work to display in our classroom. It is amazing how color copies have changed the way our work looks. We have been able to become very creative in the presentation of our work. These ink cartridges have had an amazing impact especially to my students that did not prefer writing time in our classroom.I have seen a change in their motivation to go through the writing process because they want to type and publish their work.It truly is amazing what these materials has created in our classroom. We owe I HUGE thank you to you!!! ”

  • Looking for a Toner Problem Solver.....

    Funded Apr 22, 2011

Thank you so much for your contributions to our project. Our work can now easily be copied when needed. We have more time to learn more things because we don't have to copy information from the board as much. We can simply make a copy of a print out, information from the Internet or just a worksheet. Thanks to your donations to finalize this project we are able to do all this.

We are glad that you have helped us by providing these toners for our copier. We now have assess to our copier again!!!! ”

  • Can I Use The Computer 3?

    Funded Jan 9, 2011

Thank you so much for your contributions to our proposal. My students are ecstatic with our new media lab. We have worked out a schedule so that they all get to be on the mini laptop computers at least 30 minutes a day. This laptop has improved their typing skills. Many of them will now type up their final writing piece because it won't take them 3 days anymore. They feel so grown up. I'm so thankful that they are able to get these experiences that will benefit them in their future. That is all thanks to you and your assistance with funding our project. ”

  • Can I Use the Computer 5?

    Funded Mar 22, 2011

YES!!!!! We received our mini laptop, my students were screaming. They are so grateful to all of your generosity. It has changed the way they treat each other and their sibling. They have realized that if people they do not know are willing to donate to help them then they should treat those that they know and love nicer. Your help in funding our project has not only increased my students knowledge of technology but it has put resources we previously did not have at their finger tips. It's amazing to see when they are reading a book and don't understand a word they would go to the laptop get the definition and pronunciation and added to their personal word bank. It warms my heart to know that you have given us this tool to enhance and improve our learning. ”

  • Book Sets Help Us Learn Together

    Funded Dec 21, 2010

Wow! We are so grateful for your donations to our project. The reading environment in my classroom is amazing. Just by my students having the same text to read as their friends and classmates have develop and sparked a love for reading. The level of discussions that I hear as I walk around during reading time are astonishing. My students are using higher order thinking questions.

The support of having the same text has enabled them to be accountable to reading and comprehending the book because others are reading it too. I am just so impressed with the changes in my classroom due to your contributions. Once again we thank you for improving and motivating these inquiring minds. ”

  • We NEED Allen Say To Make Our Day!!

    Funded Jan 9, 2011

Thank you so much, the book orders came just in time. We were in the middle of our Allen Say author study unit. The children were given the opportunity to read many books by Allen Say. Thanks to your donations they were exposed to more than just the usual two that I had in my library. As a result of your donation my students for the first time were able to really, deeply learn about an authors craft. Your donation allowed them to analyze, explore and interpret the author's style. My students will never ever forget who Allen Say is and that is the type of impact you have made on my students. Thanks.”

  • Series, We Need Series!

    Funded Dec 10, 2010

Wow ! My students have become book worms. Thanks to your donations to our project my students are hooked on these series. I had to even start a new library sign out system to keep up with the books. They are asking each other " Are you done yet"? I love it!!!!!!

We appreciate you taking your time to donate to our project as you can see it has made a HUGE impact in the lives of my students. Every time the office called that we had a delivery you can only imagine the shouts and cheers for books believe it or not they would scream for books. I am eager to assess them and confirm my suspicion of their improvement in reading and it's thanks to you guys and your giving hearts. ”

Yeah !! We received our media table and chairs. We absolutely love them. Our classroom looks so much bigger and best of all we have a place to put out mini computers. Thanks to your wonderful contributions our wish was granted. We have an area in which the computers are on and accessible ALL day long. My students can research topics, type up their published work right their in our classroom. This media center has really changed the behavior and the love for technology in our classroom. Teaching is never an easy task but when you are working with third graders who crave technology and require a lot of motivation and all you have to offer is a book it makes the task that much more challenging!! I teach the English component of a third grade class. Our school is located in a high-need, low income community where English is NOT the dominant language. They work very hard to acquire English and learn the academics of their native language. I am up for the challenge but would love some assistance with visuals and motivation for my students.
