  • Learning to succeed with iPads

    Funded Aug 24, 2014

    My students were beyond excited! After I told them that we would be getting four iPads with cases, they all began screaming and jumping with joy.

    We use the iPads with cases every day. I have designed my reading class into work stations. One of our stations is an iPad station. Students really enjoy using QR codes to help them learn. Students use a QR scanning app to scan the code. They have used QR codes for listening to stories, helping them learn sight words, taking them to specific websites, and to practice math problems. My students have also used many apps to help increase student learning. They really enjoy splash math, super readers, and reading island.

    This project has helped me find a way to help students to become more interested in learning and practicing reading and math skills while using the iPad. I look forward to learning new ways of using the iPads to help increase individualized student learning. Thank you all for your support and donations with this project!”

  • The Magic Carpet

    Funded Aug 25, 2014

    Thank you so much for donating to my project! My kiddos LOVE the carpet and the carpet squares. The carpet sits in front of our smart board and has provided all kids with a space of their own when sitting in front of the carpet square. Not only has this provided students with a comfortable spot to sit at but it has helped students find their spot much faster which has provided us with more time for instruction!

    My students also love using the carpet squares for our "read to self" station during reading stations. They are able to get a carpet square to find a quiet spot to lay down and read. They love this!
