Arts and crafts materials are big help for my autism students. They have difficulty understanding long text as well as expressing themselves in long sentences. Autistic children think in pictures. Varied art activities help my students in many different ways. It enhances their sense of touch and sight, fine motor, social and interpersonal skills. Arts also reduce stress and behavior concerns. It improves their self-esteem and concentration. They process things mostly through pictures. Art is like a bridge that connects my students to the real world in a colorful view.
