Chess sets and chess clocks will help our students learn the game of chess through practice, mini-tournaments, and friendly matches. They will be able to compete in county and state tournaments by feeling more prepared and capable. The game of chess also has many cognitive benefits for all ages.
Chess helps students develop memory skills, concentration, imagination, independence, creativity, logical thinking, self-motivation, and many more skills. These skills can be applied in the classroom and used to improve reading skills and test-taking strategies.
Students will earn to win with class and lose with dignity. They will learn to make mistakes and learn from them. Students will learn to predict the moves of the games and adjust their strategy accordingly. These lessons can, in turn, be applied in school and in their lives as they grow to be successful adults.
