  • Because of Winn Dixie: Let's Read!

    Funded Oct 8, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this project for copies of Because of Winn Dixie. The books have arrived, and we have them packaged with gel pens and a composition book, ready for the girls in the club to begin reading.

Reading can be a solitary activity, but, for many young teens, it is more appealing as a group activity. Being able to share a novel and explore the motivations of characters together can help middle school students develop an interest in reading that will last a lifetime. The copies of this book that you donated will make this kind of experience possible.

Thank you again for your generous support.”

  • Engineering and Technology Center: Hands-On Fun!

    Funded Oct 6, 2023

Wow! Thank you so much for providing the storage carts for our math manipulatives. We have had one Centers Day since the materials arrived, and it is already so much easier to plan and implement activities with a lot of parts.

Playing cards are useful for so many different math games. The students have enjoyed brushing up on their math facts with a game of Multiplication War. Prime Climb, a new math game which I knew little about, was a huge hit. Students were excited to figure out the color coding being used on the board, and they thoroughly enjoyed playing this math game.

Thank you again for your generous support.”

  • Middle School Sports: Path to a Healthy Life

    Funded Jun 12, 2023

Holy smokes! We've got box after box of sports equipment and supplies arriving in our front office, thanks to your generous support for middle school sports. From balls and stopwatches to socks and gloves, our athlete-scholars are receiving the equipment and materials that will help them excel on the field and on the court.

Thank you so much for your generosity. There are so many different things needed to keep a middle school sports program afloat, and we cannot expect parents to provide all of them. The laundry detergent will help us keep our uniforms fresh. The green socks will keep our soccer players looking uniform and ready to win.

Thank you again for all of your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Livingstone

  • Classroom Basics: Let's Stock Up!

    Funded Jul 30, 2023

Thank you so much for providing the window markers, easel pads, dry erase boards, and other supplies that help make learning fun and effective in our classroom.

For the first few days of the school year, my students will not have access to their Chromebooks. We will be returning to a more traditional model of hands-on activities combined with paper and pencil work. The magnetic coordinate plane is ready on the wall for students to use to graph points and equations. The window markers will allow students to create some vivid and educational anchor charts on our windows to use as resources.

Having these materials means that every student will walk into class and be given assignments that are both effective for learning and fun to do. Thank you again.”

For the first few days of the school year, my students will not have access to their Chromebooks. We will be returning to a more traditional model of hands-on activities combined with paper and pencil work. The printer you provided is so useful at this point in the year.

  • Let's Read: Carnivorous Plants and Insects!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for providing my students with live insects, live carnivorous plants, and books to support our understanding of these living things.

As we head into annual English proficiency testing, it is so nice to be able to anticipate the arrival of our giant hissing Madagascar cockroaches! With the books we received earlier, we will learn to care for these insects. Having live insects in our classroom encourages lots of conversation and gives us a lot to write about as well.

Thank you again for your support.”

  • Let's Read: Wolves, Tigers, and Snakes!

    Funded Nov 25, 2022

Thank you so much for providing my students with lots of easy, nonfiction texts to read in class as they begin the process of learning a new language. These simple and colorful texts contain key vocabulary that my students will need to know and use in their science and social studies classes. With the addition of picture support, learning these new words will be a lot easier.

Time spent reading is always learning time in our classroom. Having lots of different reading choices is an important part of helping students become avid readers.

Thank you once again for your kind donation. It is much appreciated.”
