  • Celebrating Diversity Through Books!

    Funded Apr 14, 2021

Thank you so much for your gracious donations! The world is going through a difficult time right now with the pandemic and so many people struggling with the differences we each have. Letting the students know that it is okay to be different. It is okay to not look the same. It is okay not to learn the same way as my friends. These are things that need to be instilled in children at a young age. This not only helps them accept people for their differences, but it teaches them empathy, sympathy, understanding and compassion. Having a positive mindset will help children grow up to be more accepting and understanding adults. I am happy to be a part of my students' lives and help them grow these seeds of compassion in their hearts. Thank you for helping me build my library of books about differences and letting my students know that they are awesome and they are loved!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spell

  • Teaching Virtually in 2021!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your gracious donations to our classroom project! Teaching during the pandemic has brought many changes and many unknowns in the classroom. Being flexible and being prepared is a vital tool to have in our 2nd grade classroom. One of the most valuable tools we have in our classroom is the use of our chrome books. Every student has their own chrome book provided by the county. Having the technology as a teacher has made it helpful and has had a great impact on the learning of new technology this year. The technology purchased for our classroom has been used daily.

Also, during our day our little ones have to have a daily snack, especially since our lunch is at 1:30 in the afternoon. Many of my students come from home that can not afford to send in a snack. Providing snacks for all of my kiddos help them keep their tummies full so they can focus on their learning. Thank you again for all of your help and support during this time. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spell

  • Help Us Keep our Classroom Clean During Covid!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Teaching in the classroom during Covid allows for many challenges and health concerns. These cleaning wipes and essential oils will help keep our classroom desks and tables cleaner from germs. The essential oils will help our students breathe cleaner air and allow for less germs to impact the students.

The snack and supplies are needed daily in the classroom. More than one third of my class are unable to provide snacks and supplies from their home. Your donations have helped bring the available supplies and snacks to all of my students. Without the help of your donations, I would be paying for these snacks and supplies out of my own money.

Thank you again for all of your help and support. As always, I appreciate your help so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spell

  • Teaching During Covid can be a Challenge!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you so much for your gracious donations! My students love their new headphones for their chrome books. They are able to listen to books read to them on EPIC. They can do math and language arts problems on IXL. They can do fun reading adventures on Reading Rangers. All of these can be done with the assistance of their headphones in a classroom of 20 students working simultaneously.

I love my siting and standing laptop and monitor stand. The majority of my teaching is done standing up. This stand allows me to raise my laptop to my height so I don't have to bend over to reach the keyboard. Then when I need to sit to type, I can easily lower it to the seated position. Thank you so much for all of your help and support!!!”

  • Virtual Teaching During Covid!

    Funded Sep 12, 2020

Thank you so much for your gracious donation to our classroom! This computer monitor will allow me to screen share with my students. While I am teaching virtually, my students will be able to see me teaching and see my lesson flip chart behind me. I will be able to see my entire class and see my students working on their canvas pages. Our county is currently using Microsoft Teams for our live meetings. This monitor will allow me to easily work with my laptop to connect me with my students. The HDMI cables and the hub will allow me to keep all of my technology connected and keep my lessons enhanced during these difficult times of teaching. Thank you for all that you do for teachers!”

  • Clear Masks Help Protect the Little Faces

    Funded Jul 27, 2020

Thank you so much for donating these face guard shields! They really help protect the children from sneezes and other germs floating around our classroom. With Covid in full force upon us, we have to wear cloth masks to school. Sometimes our little ones need a little break from the heat of the cloth masks. While we are at our seats and working in our classroom, we wear the face shields for a little while to let our faces cool off. We also wear the clear face shields with our cloth masks when we are working closely near another student. We have would not have been able to reach this goal without your help. Thank you!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spell

  • Stop! Back Off Covid!

    Funded Jul 27, 2020

The acrylic sneeze guard shields are a life saver at this time. We need to stay protected in our classroom from Covid. All of the parents that are sending their children back to school want their child to be safe from this disease. These acrylic sneeze guard shields give an added protection to these little ones along with their cloth masks. Our classroom has a little bit more sense of security when it comes to our health with these acrylic shields stopping those little sneezes from spreading. Thank you again for your generous donation!”

  • Let's Charge Our Chromebooks!

    Funded Mar 26, 2020

Thank you so much for this multi-chrome book charger. It couldn't have come at a better time. With Covid in full force, our county has provided all of our students with individual Chromebooks to help them with their virtual learning and their in person learning in the classrooms. This large chromebook charger can charge up to 12 chromebooks at one time. We use it all the time in our primary classroom. My students utilize their chromebooks every day. We practice our reading with Reading Rangers and IXL. We love listening to books on Epic. We practice our math on IXL and other math apps. The chromebook charger is a life saver when the chromebooks come to school and they are not charged at home. Thank you again for your generous donation to help our classroom!”

  • Chromebooks Make Learning Easy and Fun!

    Funded Feb 3, 2020

Thank you so much for your gracious donation! We were able to purchase another Chromebook for our classroom. The students love using the technology to support their learning in the room. Some of the favorite websites that are helpful to the students are Ticket to Read. This adjusts to the students' reading levels and helps boosts their vocabulary, oral fluency and reading comprehension. The students also love Star Fall, Prodigy, Cool Math and Accelerated Reader quizzes. Schooltube and BrainpopJr. allows us to play videos that help supplement my teaching lessons. We would not be able to purchase this new Chromebook without your help. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Spell
