By having this addition of shade to our playground, students will be able to enjoy being outside during their recess and class game times. Our playground is an unshaded blacktop that is scorching hot! If students are more comfortable outside, it helps them focus and bring positive play among their peers and calmer bodies when returning to the classroom. This shade will also be beneficial for the winter time. Living in Utah, we get vast amounts of snow, making it hard to participate in positive play while out at recess or class game time. The shade can help eliminate snow pile up and create a better more functionable environment for play.
