My kindergarten students are in a new STEAM charter school and have a love for technology. They are twenty-five bright and determined students who have mastered logging into their ST MATH, Study Island, and Accelerated Reading programs and are tired of waiting their turn to use the computer. A challenge of being a new STEAM charter school means that some resources are not easily available. Though they are able to use the computer lab twice a week, that is not good enough for their thirsty minds. These students work at home when they are unable to use computers in the classroom which can be difficult with after school activities. Rotating who goes on the computers and when can be a challenge. Students who have become more proficient with the features of the computer, advance within their academic programs and want more exciting resources. For other students not as proficient, they are still working to complete their academic program levels. They also want to fully engage with the technology tools.
