I teach third grade in a Title One school. 85% of the students are on the free and reduced lunch program. My students come from a variety of ethnic, social, economic, extended/traditional family backgrounds. I work hard to make the classroom a safe place where my kids can reach their full emotional and academic potential. In my class everyone is encouraged to discuss everything, especially how we feel and how we can handle challenges. We use our words to solve all conflicts. We are a family. Since my last name is Hoy we say A'Hoy a lot, and call ourselves Pirates who spread love and kindness.
