My school is a high poverty school with the majority (63%) of the students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. In my third grade classroom, 74% of the students qualify for free or reduced meals. My third grade classroom is made up of wonderful students who deserve the very best. They come from a variety of backgrounds and have varying learning needs ranging from the gifted learner to students with special needs. My students need to active learning, not passive especially in science.
