  • Technology Needed to Meet the Demand of the 21st Century

    Funded Aug 24, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donations and funding my project. It is people like you that support our education system and students that makes our job a little easier.

My students were so excited to hear about the new addition of an iPad to our everyday learning. They were eager to begin using it in our math centers and reading station. I can already tell the addition of this technology is making a difference on those students that are sometimes reluctant to participate or complete their work.

Once again, thank you for your donations and providing my students with a more engaging learning experience.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

This classroom project was brought to life by Gates Foundation Back To School and 2 other donors.
  • Making Math Fun and Exciting

    Funded Oct 19, 2013

This is just a small token of gratitude for the generous donation you made to my classroom. The math materials that you helped purchase for my students have been put to great use on a daily basis. Students eagerly come to math waiting to use the new math materials and games. These amazing games have helped many of my students master their basic multiplication and division facts, work with fractions, become better problem solvers, and meet many of the demands of the new common core curriculum. These concepts are sometimes difficult for students to master, but with your generous donation, it has made the learning process a lot more enjoyable and smoother!

Once again, thank you so much for your kind and generous gift. Without donors like you, many of our students will go without!”

  • Technology Needed to Meet the Demands of the 21st Century

    Funded Aug 13, 2012

Words cannot express how thankful I am for your generous donation. Your thoughtfulness means a lot to myself and my students.

The computer you have donated to our classroom has already made a tremendous impact in our students' academics. We have used the computer to conduct research, create word documents and power points, and learn our new curriculum in a more engaging and exciting way. This computer is certainly used by everyone in the classroom.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in the United States would go without.

So once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • I Can Write Like That!

    Funded Jan 17, 2010

I want to express many thanks to all that generously donated to my proposal. The mentor texts that you have provided have helped my students in so many ways each day. We have used our new mentor texts to learn about the many crafts an author uses to improve their writing and have enjoyed them as read -aloud or during quiet reading time. All my students ranging from second to fifth grade use these books.

Without your help, this proposal could not have been made into a reality and my students would not have had all these new wonderful resources to become better writers and to simply read a book for pure enjoyment! So frequently young writers struggle to get their thoughts on paper but with your help, they have been able to use these texts to overcome their fear of writing!

Without donors like you, many of our students and classrooms would go without resources so vital for their academic success. So once again, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • Expanding Young Minds Through Historical Fiction Literature

    Funded Jan 13, 2009

I want to take time to thank all the sponsors that helped fund this proposal. I am very excited to get our supplies and continue to read great literature in our classroom. We recently started reading and learning about the Holocaust and these books will make a great addition to our study.

I am very fortunate to work with a group of students that love to read and learn. In addition, I am sure that these supplies and books will add to that passion they already possess.

Once again, thank you to all the sponsors that were so willing to donate and help my students learn more about our history through great literature”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

"No, sorry. You may not have your own copy of the book, we don't have enough copies," sadly, this is a statement I find myself saying quite often to my students this school year. I am a gifted education teacher in a suburban school right outside of Atlanta. I teach an Innovative Model Reading class to gifted students in third, fourth, and fifth grade. The purpose of these classes is to challenge and enrich these students using thought provoking literature.
