Lights, Camera, and Learn with Tech
Funded Dec 4, 2024We are incredibly grateful for your generous donation to our classroom, which has made our "Lights, Camera, Teach with Tech" project a reality. The tablet you helped provide have had a profound impact on my students, especially in math. By recording themselves teaching lessons, my students have not only deepened their understanding of the material but have also gained valuable communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. This hands-on approach has empowered them to truly master the subject matter as they prepare to "Be the Teacher" for a day, while also reinforcing their learning through peer-to-peer sharing.
What excites my students most is the opportunity to be on camera and showcase their knowledge. They eagerly embrace the chance to teach their peers and reflect on their lessons. All of my students have embraced this technology, and it has become an invaluable resource for them to review and revisit concepts at their own pace. Thanks to your support, my students are more confident and actively engaged in their education, and this project has opened doors for them to explore, grow, and succeed. Your generosity is making a lasting difference in their learning journey, and we are deeply appreciative of your support.”

Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you so much for providing the resources that made our project possible! My students recently worked with our cipher decoders and invisible ink pens to create and crack encrypted messages. This hands-on project helped them understand the importance of cybersecurity in protecting personal and financial information. Through teamwork, they simulated real-life scenarios, such as safeguarding passwords for personal and financial information. Using books like "Chicken Clicking" and "Webster's Email," they connected these activities to broader lessons about online safety, sparking meaningful discussions about how to stay secure in a digital world.
The impact of these materials was immediate and exciting. When the students first saw the invisible ink pens and the cipher decoders, their faces lit up with curiosity and enthusiasm. They were thrilled to dive into activities that combined fun with real-world applications. Watching them crack codes and uncover hidden messages made learning come alive in a way that felt both relevant and exciting. These resources didn't just teach them concepts; they ignited their imaginations and fostered a deeper understanding of how encryption works to protect critical data.
Next, my students will apply what they've learned by creating a "Cyber Safety Handbook" to share with their peers. This project will allow them to compile their knowledge from the activities and books, designing practical tips for protecting personal and financial information. They'll also work on crafting strong, secure passwords to help manage their mock financial accounts responsibly. This journey has inspired them to take ownership of their digital safety while preparing for a future where financial literacy and cybersecurity are essential. Thank you again for your support in making these lessons so impactful!”

Funded Aug 16, 2024Thank you so much for your generous support in funding our color printer project. The new printer has had a transformative impact on my students, allowing them to fully engage in their learning and showcase their creativity in ways that were not possible before.
One standout example is our recent "Then and Now" project. Students interviewed their grandparents to explore how life has changed over the years, conducted in-depth research on those differences, and created vibrant posters to present their findings. The color printer played a vital role in bringing their projects to life—allowing them to print quality images of their grandparents, along with eye-catching titles, captions, and illustrations. This not only enhanced the visual appeal of their work but also boosted their confidence and excitement as they shared their findings with peers and family.
In addition to student projects, we use the printer for newsletters to keep families informed, colorful homework assignments that engage students, and various classroom activities that make learning more dynamic. It has become an invaluable tool that supports both students and their families in staying connected and inspired. Thanks to your generosity to support has truly enriched their educational experience, and we are so grateful for the difference you've made in our classroom.”
