  • Let's Start Off The School Year Right!

    Funded Sep 9, 2012

Thank you so very much for your kind and generous donation to my "Let's Start the New Year Off Right" project. My students are a very active group and engaging them is my top priority. The math games will not only interest these fourth graders with high level thinking activities but they will have fun using the games too. Our new timers are keeping us on the right track as we practice fluency during workshop time. While the plastic white boards are making challenging math problems a snap. All our pencils are sharp and we are ready to write thanks to our great pencil sharpener and you.”

In the past we have use an old, very heavy projector now we have this very up to date piece of technology. We can hook it up to the Internet and do research on our language arts units. Currently we are studying animals which we can look at projected as big as life on our white board. We can also hook it up to our document reader and work our math problems together. This addition to our classroom will really improve our learning experience.Thank you again for your donations. ”

  • Learning Through Games

    Funded Feb 8, 2012

Thank you so very much for your kind and generous donation to my Donors Choose project "Learning Through Games". My third graders love the new games! We had a rainy day schedule last week and as I pulled out the games a big "hurray" was heard in the classroom. Everyone was so excited that even when the rain started to come down hard against the roof their minds were so focus on what they were doing they seemed to forget that they couldn't go outside to play. These games are not only fun but educational too. The challenges that the games provide my students will stretch their minds and will really help when it comes time for testing. Thank you again for your support!”

  • Magic Carpet Ride

    Funded Jan 13, 2012

Thank you so much for your very generous donation to my "Magic Carpet Ride" project. Our new carpet is wonderful! We love the beautiful colors and the print of the United States. We have been having fun "visiting" our favorite state by sitting on it and although, we love Rhode Island that one is a little challenging. We have also been enjoying just relaxing as we read our favorite chapter books or playing learning games. Our floor is no longer cold when we read together. This lovely rug has brightened up our otherwise drab room with color and coziness.Thank you again for your kindness!”

  • The Pad's the Bomb

    Funded Jan 13, 2012

Thank you so much for your very kind and generous donations to my project "The Pad's the Bomb". My students are so happy and excited that we have an iPad for our classroom. We have already added some apps that have been both fun and challenging. We have passed the iPad around the room when we used the Accelerated Reader "app" to take our reading quizzes. The math game "app" has been conquered by most of my students and the other students a looking forward to beating the game and moving up to the next level.Your gift is priceless and you have really helped my students in so many ways. Thank you!”

  • Seeing Is Believing

    Funded Dec 18, 2011

Thank you so much for your very kind donation to my project "Seeing is Believing". When the box arrived my third grade students could not contain their excitement. When I opened the box a hush came over the room and then the oohs and awes took over. After setting up the projector the students settled in for our first math activity and the learning took off. Before our new projector I heard comments like "I can't see" and Please move your head". Now everyone in the room can see just fine! We have used it for math and our language arts activities and I am also planning to teach more art now that I can project projects for all to see.Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!”

  • Valuable Resources to the Rescue

    Funded Dec 12, 2011

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation to my "Valuable Resources to the Rescue" Project. My third grade students were so excited when the boxes arrived. One of them said it was Christmas in January and another said it was even better because Santa has been here twice! Now that we have started using the atlases and the thesauruses the excitement has continued. We do get a little side tracked when looking for country or city sometimes we find a different place that sounds interesting so we have to stop and change course to look at that one. It is a great way to explore. Our new thesauruses have really helped too. Our word knowledge is increasing day by day.

Thank you again for the wonderful donation!”

  • Let's Get Off To A Good Start

    Funded Sep 11, 2011

Thank you so very much for your kind and generous donations to my third grade class. As you know we are in a low income area of Southern California and my students come to school each day with the bare minimum in supplies but with the maximum in enthusiasm for what they are going to learn each day. When I told the class about your donations they were very happy to hear about "all the cool stuff" (their words) that you gave us.

As the boxes arrived the day was like a birthday party opening each one. My students are very proud to display their projects in the Magnetic Paper Pocket and they love writing in the composition books.

Thank you again for thinking of us and helping to get the school year off to a great start.

    With gratitude,

    Ms. DiMarco

  • It's All In The Research!

    Funded Jan 20, 2011

Thank you so much for your wonderful donation to my class. The encyclopedia set is a big hit! We are currently researching different states for a social studies report that is due next month. The encyclopedia has been a great addition and source for my student. One of the fun benefits that has also occurred was the new discoveries that they have made while looking for their assigned state. Oh, look here's an article about President Kennedy! Here's one about blood vessels! Hey, here's one about Elvis!

Your kindness has helped my student find new adventures through reading and research with the new encyclopedia. Thank you again!”

  • Smile For The Camera!

    Funded Jan 14, 2011

Thank you so much for your very kind donation to my fourth grade class. The cameras are a big hit! We have already started to use them today. After looking at pictures taken by Matthew Brady, Ansel Adams, Anne Geddes and some great sports photographers too we discussed what makes a good photo. Then I sent the students out to create their own works of art. I have posted the pictures the students took for you to enjoy. We still have some work to do to live up to those famous photographers but the class is looking forward to the challenge. We are also very excited to use the cameras to make some power point presentations when we study California history and as we study our upcoming language arts unit on medicine.Thank you again for you generosity and support of my students. Your contributions have great value today and for many tomorrows as well.”
