All children deserve the opportunity to take an unforgettable field trip and to explore their great state. Our school is located near the coastal region of North Carolina and we have the privilege of visiting the North Carolina Aquarium at Ft. Fisher. The students will have the chance to explore the great world of wonder and water through a wide variety of exhibits and programs that are offered at the aquarium. Students will journey down the waters of the Cape Fear River from freshwater streams to the open ocean. They will also have the chance to meet thousands of aquatic animals from across the state and around the world. At the aquarium, there is a chance to discover alligators, venomous snakes, jellyfish, sea turtles, sharks and an ocean of fish. Touch pools, interactive exhibits and an outdoor play area invite even more exploration. After visiting all of the Biomes regions the sea has to offer we will take a step back in history to visit the past through the eyes of Fort Fisher, which is the largest of the earthen seacoast fortifications defending the last major open port to the Confederacy. The site boasts scenic views of the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. This is a chance for history to come alive.
