• Playing for the Ozmos

  Thank you all so much for the generous donations you gave to my class. They were so excited to have this new opportunity. It took a while to get the department to get it all set up, so I had them sitting under the tree when they came in. Then we went through the process of how we received them. They were so excited to get started.

  This is now one of our group stations. I am currently waiting on my cases for the iPads and once they come in, the students will be able to move around the room. Until then, I have them placed at a smaller desk and they work on it there. This seems to be working well and the kids love it.

  I cannot thank you enough for giving us this opportunity. This is what some of the kids needed in order to "like" coming to math class. With your help, we have made math class fun and engaging! Thank you so much.”

• Help Mix the Reading for 6th

  Thank you so much for your generous donations. My class has enjoyed the new books and some of them have already finished a few! They got to watch me open the boxes and I believe that made them ready to start reading. I am so thankful that I am now able to start building my new classroom library for my new 6th grade classes.

  I look forward to being able to expand my small library even more. I love to read and being able to get the students excited about reading is my goal, even though I am a social studies teacher. I believe that this helps that students in many aspects and it is something I want them to WANT to do.

• Reading is Good for the Soul

  My students were so excited to receive these books! We were able to update some of our books by throwing the gently used ones away. We use these books every year so it is wonderful to be able to get new ones occasionally. The ones that I get rid of, I let a few of my students choose if they would like to take them home. They LOVE to be able to take books home, so thank you for letting them be able to do that as well.

  We use these books whole group and small group. Some of them we will use a comprehension packet with. This is where the students will follow throughout the book and answer the questions as we read. Then we have an interactive packet where the students are required to answer questions and do certain things throughout the novel. They love being able to have a novel instead of working out of our workbooks. Thank you for allowing us to continue to do so.”

• Whole Group Reading

  My students were SO excited to receive the new books! I let them watch me open the box when it arrived and they were so excited to have new books! We use these books whole group and do a lap book with the novel. With the lap book the students have pictures/printables that are placed inside and they are to answer the question or draw something that matches. They love the engagement that comes with the book and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is one of their favorite books that we have read so far.

  When we do whole group reading, usually I am the one that will read aloud to the students as they follow along. Occasionally, I will let some of the students volunteer to read. The students mostly enjoy hearing me read though, so I try to do that as much as possible.

  Some students do not have a lot that are in our school. So anytime that I receive new books, I will give my used books to those students. When I offered it to them, I thought I was going to have tears from a few! You have blessed our classroom and we are so grateful!”

• Reading Fun and Games

  Thank you all for your donations, because of this we were able to add to our small groups and the kids love the games. The games help improve their understanding of main idea and make that final connection some of them are missing. We also received a game with spelling, this of course helps in many ways. The most useful items that the students received were the scissors! We have struggled this year getting all the supplies we need and some of my students do not have anything to work with at home, so this helped them! Thank you all so much for your generosity, we greatly appreciate it!”

  Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! They were so excited to get started with all of the new items!! We have been working with them in small group and each group is jealous of another & they try to be the first to finish. I love how their minds are so active and working together to finish the project. We have been able to incorporate math, science and reading as well with this project. • Blocks on Blocks on Blocks!

  My students and I greatly appreciate your generous donations. We have been able to complete engaging projects that go along with our lessons for science and math. The students have loved being able to incorporate what they have learned into something hands on.

  The students love being able to express themselves and they have been able to do with these blocks. The blocks came with cards that the students came complete, however, I also let them come up with their own ideas.

  I am so grateful that you all gave my class the opportunity to be able to complete these projects. They are easy to assemble and follow to complete. This has been a fun blessing for my science class.

• Building the Foundation to Learning

  With the donations that my class and I received, we have been able to learn then express or give demonstrations through the items. My class was super excited when I opened up all of the gifts.

  We have used the blocks during science and they have shown different ways to make bridges. The items were extremely useful in getting the students to show what they have learned.

  The lego items have been used in small group math. The students LOVE when they get to play with these items. There are tons of resources on teacherpayteacher that let my students choose which they want to build.

  They are able to use math, reading, background knowledge and their communication skills. I am completely satisfied with everything we received. We greatly appreciate it and I will use this for years to come. Thank you again.”
