  • Crochet Books in Spanish for my ELL Students!

    Funded Jan 29, 2025

Thank you so much for taking the time to purchase the Spanish language crochet books, multiple skeins of yarn, and crochet hooks for my students. These items are flying off the library shelves! Your continued support has also granted my crochet lunch bunch the opportunity to become more inclusive. Now that we have crochet books in Spanish our English language learners can participate. This has not only allowed more students to experience library joy but also it has strengthened our school community!”

    Ms. Lewis

Thank you so much for taking the time to support my school library. My students absolutely love their new books. I cannot keep the new books on the shelf! Since the books have arrived my students have been talking about creating a school library book club. They want to encourage other students to read these books too! I couldn't be happier or prouder of my wonderful students and I am so grateful for your support. Watching students get excited about reading is a true joy and you have made this possible!”

  • Weave Creativity into Lunchtime

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to this donorschoose project. Your generosity is making a positive impact on my library patrons. Students have been flocking to my mobile library cart to check out books on crocheting as well as yarn, and crochet hooks. I have also placed looms on the table and students have begun participating in a community weaving project to beautify the halls of our high school. I love seeing students' eyes light up as they see the additions to our library. Hands-on activities provide students with the ability to increase motor skills as well as calm anxiety. Learning to crochet allows anxious students to keep their hands busy and gives them a sense of pride when creating something independently. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lewis

  • Increase Literacy Through Comic Books!

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

I am writing to express my gratitude for your generous contribution to my school library. The addition of Absolute Batman and the manga series A Sign of Affection has already sparked excitement among my students.

Your donation has enhanced our library's collection and demonstrated to my students the value of community and the importance of sharing stories that inspire, challenge, and entertain. In a time when libraries serve as more than just repositories of books—becoming havens for imagination, discovery, and belonging—your support underscores how vital these spaces are to our school.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and belief in the power of books to transform lives. Your contribution has enriched our library and, more importantly, the lives of our students.”

  • Love to Read: Expanding YA Romance in Our School Library

    Funded Nov 9, 2024

I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation that enabled us to purchase a selection of young adult romance novels for our library. Your support has made a significant impact, bringing joy and inspiration to our students.

Young adult literature plays a crucial role in shaping our teens' reading habits, emotional growth, and creativity. The romance genre, in particular, resonates deeply with our students, offering relatable stories about self-discovery, resilience, and the power of connection. These books provide entertainment and a safe space for students to explore complex emotions and relationships, helping them navigate their own experiences.

Since the arrival of the new titles, we've noticed an increase in student visits to the library, with many eagerly checking out these books. Hearing students excitedly discuss their favorite characters and plot twists has been a joy to witness. For some, this is their first encounter with a story that truly speaks to them, sparking a newfound love for reading that we hope will last a lifetime.

Your generosity goes beyond the books on our shelves—it cultivates a community of readers and learners. You are helping us create a library that feels welcoming, inclusive, and reflective of our students' diverse interests and needs.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lewis

  • Learning Life Skills While Having Fun!

    Funded Oct 16, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my school library and ultimately for supporting my students. The osmos have proven to be an engaging ingredient to my students' success. They love using the osmos while spending time in the library. The party dress-up component and the pizza shop app are both very popular. Next week we are going to use the pizza shop app as well as the ABC app. I could see smiles on my students' faces and they learned to appropriately use money with the pizza app. I could also hear their laughter with the party dress up game. Thank you so much!”

I work in a large urban school in with a population of 1750. My students are a mixture of different personalities and attitudes. Everyone has a genuine appreciation for the library, and see it's significance in the school. I have numerous students who relinquish their usual study time to volunteer in the library.
