My students come from ethnic backgrounds such as Hispanic, Mexican, African American, Caucasian, and Puerto Rican. All of my students are free lunch recipients. One of my students is homeless. She and her 4 four siblings and mother are in a homeless shelter. There are 900 students in our school. We are a public school in Milwaukee that is also a DIFI school. Our school is predominantly Hispanic/Puerto Rican, with many bilingual students. Some parents and students speak no English at all. My students work hard every day and are learning how to be responsible, respectful, and safe students. They enjoy sharing stories about their families, as well as hearing stories about my family and my animals.
