Books for Bilinguals
Funded Jul 21, 2017As I was going through all my books (classroom books) this summer, I realized my students would not have access to high-quality literature unless I did something about it. It was then that I knew I had to ask for help - the help from people who not only believe in public education but also believe that each child should have the opportunity to read great books.
When my students saw the books you had so graciously donated, they could not believe it. They could not believe people they did not even know would be so generous. I told them that the books were donated by people who believed in bilingual education - people who knew that having the right books could make all the difference.
Students who I was told did not like to read, RUN for the books as soon as they become available and read them. Children are reading book, after book, after book. Boys and girls love all the books about animals and they are learning SO much.
Thank you for your generosity and for believing in this project.
I am forever grateful.”

Funded Mar 19, 2014It is not uncommon to hear how lack of funds affect our schools. The truth is, every time budgets are cut, the first thing on the table is education. In my classroom, as in many classrooms across the nation, resources are scarce. However, it is thanks to generous donors (you) that we (teachers) can really make a difference.
Thank you for your generosity and your help. You truly make a big difference and I mean it. With the 2 Microsoft Tables my students have now access to the entire Office Suit (Word, PPT, Excel, and much more) and the Internet. We have made presentations, researched, practiced typing skills, recorded videos, taken pictures and much more. This would not have happened without you!
From the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU.”

Funded Sep 21, 2013For the last few months, my students have been making really great use of the Ipad minis we received thanks to you. They have really enhanced our math time as students get to practice and master their math facts. During our Social Studies time, the Ipads have helped us so much with research.
Our fourth grade curriculum is pretty extensive and so far students have been able to research CA Native Americans, the CA Regions and now we are working on the CA Missions.
It is hard to put in words how grateful we are for your contributions and how much impact your generosity has. Thank you to all of you for your commitment to education and believing in this project as well.”

Ms. Serrano
Thinking+Reading=Real Reading
Funded Feb 18, 2013Thank you for your generous donations. Our third grade class finally has a listening center complete with headphones, and plenty of books. Your donations not only supported the technology needed, but also bought amazing literature children enjoy on a daily basis.
It is amazing to see students have access to books they would otherwise be unable to understand. The center is a great 'model' as well for students as they are able to hear what amazing 'readers' sound like. Many of the books donated through this project are read aloud by the authors.
Please take a minute to see some of the pictures related to this project.
Thank you again.”

Can We Play Some Math Games?
Funded Sep 10, 2012Dear Donors,
My students and I are really grateful for your support with this project. The different math games you have donated are making a HUGE difference in my class.
When students learn a new math concept, there is a big gap between just learning a fact or strategy and actually applying it. These games are a learning bridge between a plain concept and how we use math in our everyday lives. Students can learn about money, but when they can use, make change, and recognize the operation they need to use - then I know the concept has really "made sense."
Thank you again for your help.”

Funded Jan 30, 2012All students would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help and making this project a reality. With the printer in our classroom, students are now able to PRINT:
- Resources from the Internet to further read and conduct research, and
- Reports that they have typed either at school or at home.
While this may seem simple to many of you, having this resource (laser printer) in our classroom truly makes a difference. In our classroom not every child has access to a printer at home, and for them to know that at school they do not have to worry about this is a BIG PLUS...Once again, THANK YOU.
Thank you to all of you for your support and trust.
Fifth and sixth graders.”

Funded Jun 15, 2011Our students and I (Ms. Serrano and Mr. Zanoria) cannot express how grateful we all are about the technology you provided for our class. The Elmo, Elmo Pad, LCD Projector and cart have been a life saver in our classroom.
Students have the opportunity to use these tools on a daily basis (several times a day!). The technology we now have access to, makes learning not only easier but also fun. Students cannot wait to get to the cart, show their work, and explain to their classmates what they have done. Students who used to not want to share are now the first ones with their hands up.
Mr. Zanoria and I hear only the best comments about the items - how they have made learning more interesting. There is not a day that our students or ourselves go without thinking about the donations you made to make this project a reality.
From the bottom of our hearts.....MILLION thanks for your support and trust in your child's education.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Serrano
