Materials for Enrichment and Exploration Centers!
Funded Nov 14, 2022We are so excited to share about the new routines we have been able to sustain because of you!
With the art supplies given (such as markers and glue sticks) - we have have created MANY anchor charts together in our journals so that we can look back at our notes whenever we need to! We have also been using them to color a level as we master our multiplication facts - one of the biggest focuses in third grade math. Students have also created many craft projects in math class from multiplication snowmen to multiples of tens valentines!
The star of our show, however, has been the implementation of a listening center because of your generosity! Students have truly enjoyed listening to math books being read aloud to them. When the book is done, they are excited to share their review on a google form that comes straight to me!
The last few months we have been working hard to develop a routine of hands on centers, allowing me the free time to really meet and engage with the students in a smaller group setting. The third graders have been working so hard at maintaining their stamina of working on their own while I meet with groups - another very important skill!
We are so endlessly grateful for the difference you have made in our classroom. Know that you have had a major impact on not only 70 students, but one very thankful teacher as well.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Levasseur

Funded Jul 24, 2022Our third grade class just finished our first quarter of school on Monday! Because of your donations, the school year started off as seamlessly as it could. Every student in my class was able to have their own folder for home and to stay in the classroom, we have been able to explore math on an independent level and whole group with our supply of dry erase markers in a huge variety of ways (and we still have a large stock to last us awhile!), and we have have created masterpieces with our glue sticks and laminator that YOU have added to our classroom! We are so lucky and grateful for donors like you, for helping us have the materials we need to close some of the learning gaps caused from the learning loss over the last few years. A classroom truly, truly, truly runs so much smoother with the supplies we were able to gather this year. Additionally, our classroom has become a student centered space because of organizational tools we received from this project - too! The students have easy and quick access to many tools they need.
Please know, we talk about our donors often and how different our classroom would look/be without you and your generosity. We are endlessly thankful.”

Funded Sep 28, 2021We want to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping our classroom during this weird transitional time. We are so thankful for the materials that help our math projects come to fruition. We have had the best beginning of the school year getting to know each other and just getting used to being back together in person.
We have used the laminator for a lot of really cool projects. For example - the students created their own puzzles and we laminated them for them to become a hands on center. They LOVE having their own work for their classmates to work on. The puzzles and STEM activities purchased are used for soft starts in the mornings, we have seen some really cool projects come to life. We also love to use our dry erase markers to show our work almost every day!
We are so excited to continue to work hard this year, using the materials we were able to receive because of YOU.”

Struggling Through the Screen - Hopeful To Create "Normalcy"
Funded Sep 30, 2020This Ipad and Apple Pen has been a complete game changer in our classroom. It really is the next closest thing to having a "whiteboard". I have been able to share my ipad screen and write all over it, just like I would in a typical classroom. It has also served as a dual monitor for me. I love uploading any worksheets or activities that we are doing, and modeling them for the students in a way that is familiar, while also being able to see them on my computer screen. It has been so amazing being able to walk through problems step by step. Third grade is very heavy in word problems, so being able to show the students how to highlight, underline and then solve has helped them (and me!) tremendously. I am so excited about this piece of technology being added to our classroom, and can't wait to discover many other ways to use it.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your donations. Please know it has made the biggest difference.

Funded Jun 14, 2019This school year started off with a bang as the buzz of our new resources came to life with the students first month. Students have been exploring flexible seating - including yoga balls, wobble cushions, donut seats and bands around the legs of their chairs. In math class, we do A LOT of movement, so the students have been incredible with 'sharing' the seats and the constant change. I also have had the highest levels of engagement I've ever had with my ESOL friends through the use of the Hot Dots. Because this resource is SO visual, tactile and fun at the same time, I have been able to see their levels of confidence boost in the short amount of time we've worked together because of this.
The new third graders were just ECSTATIC when I introduced all of our new materials. After establishing our routines, I couldn't be more excited for the school year ahead of us because of the comfortable and "fun" tone in our room.
I have always wanted my class to be a home away from home for these kids, and this year, I really feel that it is. I love seeing them excited to come to math every day.
I am excited to continue watching my students grow, because of the resources you gave them.”
