This project is helping our K through 6th graders as we work to revamp our literature selections for read aloud and picture books in our library. Last year our library was closed and we are working hard to reopen it this year. It is important to our school to provide a variety of diverse and inclusive picture books for students to read and interact with the text/pictures. We also need a plethora of updated chapter books in a variety of levels which are high interest. This year we are eager to bring books into the students hands where families may not have real books at home. What was the last thing you read? Was it for pleasure or information? Do you remember the last picture book you shared with a child? What lesson did the author or illustrator teach in this book? Literature circles and quality pieces of text is so important to let students read, see, and touch. Over the last decade, many new books have been updated and revised to meet the needs of our ever growing population. Please help us fill our shelves in our library!
