Engineers in the Making
Funded Sep 21, 2023Using the new LEGO Spike resource has revolutionized our classroom's STEM learning experiences. One standout project involved students collaborating to build and program a robot capable of navigating through an obstacle course. Witnessing their excitement and dedication as they meticulously designed, tested, and iterated upon their creations was remarkable. When the students first laid eyes on the LEGO Spike sets, their enthusiasm knew no bounds – they were genuinely thrilled, their faces lighting up with anticipation. Their eagerness translated into immediate engagement, sparking lively discussions and an eagerness to dive into the world of robotics and coding. The generous support from our donors has been invaluable, and moving forward, our next steps involve delving deeper into programming complexities, refining their robots' capabilities, and exploring real-world applications of STEM concepts, fostering a continuous journey of discovery and innovation for our students.”

Funded Aug 27, 2019Thank you so much for your donations. My students and I thank you for your support and generosity. My students were super excited when we were opening up your donations. We all sat together in a circle while we were opening the donations. I explained to them that I had set up a project using DonorsChoose and of course they had a lot of questions. They thought it was wonderful that people can help students and teachers. They loved all the items from the project and we use them every day. We use the days of school pocket chart every day to mark how many days we've been in school and we use it to emphasize that math is everywhere. In addition, we use the lap desks and pocket sleeves every day my students love them. Your donations have allowed me to create a classroom where learning is fun, joyful, and welcoming. I can't thank you enough!”
