Hip, hip, hooray! Thank you for your generous donations! We got our math project funded. I am so excited! My students will be so excited! The manipulatives I ordered for the class will really bring math to life. Hands-on materials are always the best way for little scholars to learn! Thank you!”

  • Books, Pencils, Gels, and Stones for Writing?

    Funded Nov 20, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation. We hit the road strong in our writing and putting all the materials we received to good use. As first grade students, many are learning to write sentences and paragraphs. We started an animal adaptation unit and are writing informational reports. The "stones" we received we have used as speaking stones where partners get to shared their ideas while holding a speaking stone. They have been used daily and the students love them! Thank you.

My class was giddy with excitement when I opened the packages in front of them. They wanted to use all the supplies the same day!

Our next steps are to continue using the materials to improve our writing. Thank you for helping my class achieve better writing skills.”

  • Beautiful Book Collections For Young Readers

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. We truly appreciate all of you! The books were PERFECT! One of our non-fiction writing units consists of students reading and learning about a specific animal to write about. The class was able to read the books we received and do research on the animal they picked. This was their first piece of non-fiction writing. Students were excited to show their peers the information they found in all the books they read.

Reading in our classroom consists of learning new information. The two favorite books were learning about sharks and learning about mummies. The class got so excited about all the information contained in these books. Again, thank you for helping build this excitement with your donation.”

  • Help Us Develop Our Growth Mindset!

    Funded Jan 8, 2022

This year there has be an emphasis on developing a growth mindset. Your donation has helped get supplies needed for developing a growth mindset. We were able to use the growth mindset journals to write and draw about specific attributes such as perseverance, kindness, friendship and mindfulness. Student were able read books on all these topics as well.

The students enjoyed the set of books that were part of the donation. They were so excited to see the posters and all the materials.

The next steps will be to continue learning about growth mindset. We have started writing back to characters in books about how to build their growth mindset. Hearing students change how they speak about difficult tasks has been fantastic!”

  • My Own Supplies! (Share or Not to Share This Year!)

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation and for helping us get our supplies. This year coming back to school after being home and in distance learning, we were expected to continue to distance ourselves at school. The set up of the classroom changed. I used to have communal baskets for students where they could all share their supplies. Gratefully, through your donations. I was able to provide students with each set of supplies they would need. They no longer needed to share colored pencils, markers, scissors, glue, crayons. Your donation helped give everyone in my class their own set of supplies.

My class absolutely loved the supplies. First, many of them did not have in class learning for over a year! Now getting to be in class and have their own brand new set of supplies was great for them.

We get to write, read, make art and create beautiful pictures without feeling like there is not enough in the class. We each have our own class set of everything. This was only possible through your donation. Thank you very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lertkulvanich

  • Learning to Get Along After Distance Learning

    Funded Mar 31, 2021

Thank your for your donation. After spending almost a year on distance learning, my students needed to learn to get along again. Many of the books we received were about social etiquette. We read stories about how to behave in the classroom, how to act when your need to share your supplies, what to do if someone is mean to you. And many more!

Reading in my classroom is very lively. My students love to share their stories. They love to talk about what they have read. They love to make connections about the stories they read in class.

The students that struggled the most with learning to get along were the more vocal students about the stories read in class. They enjoyed learning how to deal with different social situations and having different ways to solve problems. Thank you for all the beautiful books!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lertkulvanich

  • Diversity and Inclusion During Distance Learning!

    Funded Feb 26, 2021

Thank you for donating to our project. The books received were able to help my students make inferences and predictions. The were able to make connections about themselves and the world around them.

Reading in my classroom is a social event. My students like to read. They like to talk about what they have read and they like to share the stories they have read. During reading time, my classroom is very lively. The books received were perfect for this time!

My classroom is very diverse and the books received were able to show students diversity in print. We read about different characters from different countries. Some of my students were able to say, "I'm from that place!" My very shy Japanese student said, "That is where I come from", after reading a story from Japan. Thank you for providing these wonderful happenings.”
