My students are mostly tenth graders in a medium sized public high school in New York City. My students come from a wide variety of cultural, and socioeconomic background. Over 50% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch; this is higher than our state average and lower than other high schools in the Bronx. Our school does not qualify for title one funding and we often have to rely on outside efforts for additional funding for trips or supplies deemed nonessential.
