I teach Gifted Education in a rural area in south Mississippi where over half of our student population come from low income households. Many of my students are not exposed to computers or technology until they enter my classroom. Many times students identified as Gifted are considered disabled because they are not being provided with the tools and resources needed to achieve their highest potential. Educational facilities usually go the extra mile with money and resources to ensure that no child is left behind, but hesitate to provide the resources and tools needed for our gifted students to excel and move forward. It is often assumed that gifted students "will succeed regardless". Your donation will gift my students with the opportunity to escape beyond the classroom into the world and universe using technology that is often beyond their reach. As a first time buyer funded teacher your donation up to $50 will be matched/doubled! Every little bit you are able to give will count!! These Chromebooks will enable my students to explore, research, create and present projects that utilize their creativity and curiosity to the fullest. We will utilize these Chromebooks for individualized, differentiated projects such as discovering how to use technology for the purpose of creating their own businesses, researching government, countries and cultures, learning new languages, developing charitable and philanthropic ventures, visualizing future collegiate and career opportunities, investigating and presenting information on topics of their own interest to their classmates and literally expanding their entire world through knowledge!
