  • Sensory Success Strategies

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

The "Sensory Success Strategies" project provides essential sensory materials that significantly enhance the learning experiences of our students, particularly those with sensory processing needs. By utilizing balance and coordination enhancing blocks, noise reduction earmuffs, dynamic movement sensory body socks, and weighted stuffed animals, we create a supportive environment that fosters engagement, focus, and comfort for all students.

These materials have already begun to facilitate the development of crucial motor skills and sensory awareness, allowing students to navigate their learning spaces with confidence. The weighted stuffed animals have aided in calming during times of stress, thus promoting emotional regulation. I hope this project will continue to empower my students to thrive academically and socially through access to sensory tools they need to succeed in and out of the classroom.

Thank you for your generous support, which allows us to equip our classroom with these vital resources. Your contributions make a meaningful impact, empowering our students to thrive academically and socially by giving them the sensory tools they need to succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. LeBaron

  • Playful Profits

    Funded Dec 11, 2024

I am writing to express my gratitude for the recent purchase of educational and organizational items, which are already having a significant impact on both learning and development in our environment. The Melissa & Doug Fresh Mart Grocery Store Companion Collection Set provides a wonderful hands-on experience for preschoolers, fostering early childhood skills such as role-playing, counting, and social interaction. The inclusion of these types of toys in the classroom enhances not only cognitive abilities but also social-emotional growth, as children practice real-world scenarios in a playful, engaging setting.

Additionally, the Metal Kids Bookshelf had an immediate positive effect on our organizational needs. These storage solutions have brought a much-needed sense of order to the space, allowing for easier access and tidier management of toys, books, and other educational materials. Meanwhile, the Melissa & Doug Cutting Fruit Wooden Play Food Set and the Learning Resources Pretend & Play Calculator Cash Register are instrumental in supporting imaginative play and early math skills. Together, these items not only improve the learning environment but also contribute to a more effective and enjoyable educational experience for our young learners.”

  • Classroom Comfort and Incentives

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

The quality of our meditation time has sky rocketed with our beanbag and cushions. Students are so excited when it's their turn to use the beanbag, and students are more enticed to have good behavior so they can use a pillow during that time.

They also have given our calm corner a much needed upgrade allowing students the comfort and support before rejoining the class from a break. At the end of the day between students leaving on the bus and students meeting parents outside, we have a chill few minutes where students like to sit and read or use a toy in this space.

Your donation really made a big impact on my student's and the overall focus of their day.”

    With gratitude,

  • Social Super Stars in the Making

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for donating to this project! My students love reading the spots books and finding new ways to express their emotions. It has been so helpful as many of my students struggle to communicate their wants and needs when they are overstimulated or upset about something. The posters, books, and spot plushies have been a lifesaver for us helping our kiddos understand and communicate.

Students are asking constantly if they can go in the calm area since they have learned that the tools their can help regulate their emotions. Not to mention that they love the toys from some other projects featured in the same area.”

  • Math Manipulatives for Students With Disabilities

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

This project was close to my heart, and I am grateful for your support! I really enjoyed mathematics until the 11th grade when concepts no longer clicked for me. My math students are at that same age, and their disabilities add to their difficulty in understanding.

With the ability to pull out various manipulatives, we were able to talk about math concepts in different ways that especially helped students who think visually. The ability to have students touch and see the math allowed them to understand more fully.

Next year I plan to create more lessons and activities where we can use the resources provided from this project.”

  • I'm Hungry... Do You Have Any Snacks?

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you so much for assisting with this project! I sincerely appreciate the funding, the resources provided aided to and rewarded my student's on task behavior. It allowed them to continue working when they were tired and hungry. As well as providing them with a renewed sense of security in the classroom.

There were several times when students would come to my room before or after school asking for something to eat. I was so happy that I had options of what I could offer them. It was also a blessing as those with dietary restrictions knew I would have a snack that they could, where many times they aren't able to partake of the snacks provided.

The resources provided were able to act not only as an incentive for students to be on task, but also to help their brains keep working when hunger arrived.”

  • Diversify Literature in a SpED Classroom

    Funded Aug 9, 2023

I've always had a love for reading and learning more about the world. The funding for this project means I have the opportunity to help build interest through the characters that reflect pieces of my students' backgrounds. I am so excited to open these books and discuss their unique differences this year with my high schoolers; and am hoping that we'll be able to have deep discussions about how we can support others in the world pressed with similar challenges in life. By the end of May 2024, I hope my students are as grateful for your donations as I am now!”

    With gratitude,
