Our school is a PK - fifth grade public school serving about 500 students. We pride ourselves in providing a positive environment allowing our students to learn and grow into successful leaders.
Our students routinely face many challenges in their day to day life and school is a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment for them.
Our school has 100% of students receiving free lunch and is the zoned school for the local shelter for homeless and abused women and children in crisis. Many of our students worry about home and personal situations well beyond what a student should have to think about.
Despite their various challenges, our students are strong and resilient young people.
I work with our students to ensure their basic needs (such as weekend food bags for students, free eye care screenings and exams, school supplies, and a clothing closet) are met in efforts to increase their attendance in school.
