  • Scholars Need Supplies to Be Successful

    Funded Jul 18, 2017

Holy Moly!!!! I am shocked at how generous your gifts are and how much they will make our classroom functional. The dry erase markers, erasers and cleaner will help us keep our whole group learning supplies clean and well cared for. We use the white boards for creating word families, phonics, and grammar. We also use the boards for math during warm up/beginning of lesson work. So, safe to say these gifts are a god send. I can not wait to show you these supplies in action! Stay tuned for plenty of pictures!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowes

  • Reading in Style!

    Funded Jul 18, 2017

What an amazing feeling to see that email- saying that we are FUNDED!!!!!!! My students are now sitting on a CLEAN, pretty and comfortable rug to conduct morning meeting, whole group learning in both Literacy and Mathematics. As Kindergarteners, we use the rug frequently. We are currently learning routines and procedures in our classroom and it is wonderful to have a comfortable area that is large enough for nicely fit all of my children. One of the procedures that I will be teaching my students is how to properly care for our carpet so it will last for years to come!”

  • Eager Readers Search for Enchanting Stories!

    Funded Jul 20, 2017

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We are beyond excited to receive such wonderful audio books for our classroom. We will use them during our center rotations while I instruct literacy small groups with the exact skills that they are lacking- such as tracking print, chunking parts of words, main idea, characters..etc. While I am with my small groups, the other children will be in centers in groups of 2 working other literacy centers. The audio books will help strengthen their listening comprehension. I chose some of the "favorites" of students to help spark their interest. I can not wait to see these gifts in action!”

  • Keyboards, Headphones and Mice, Oh My!

    Funded Jul 24, 2017

What huge display of kindness! I am BEYOND thrilled and elated to receive brand new keyboards, headphones and mice. We have wonderful and engaging literacy interventions for Kindergarten- but it is hard to be useful when the mice have frayed cords and only one side of the headphones work. It is such a blessing to not have to worry about where the money will be coming from to provide these necessary items. My students will be taught how to properly care and handle the equipment, so that they will last for years to come. Thank you will never be enough for your kindness.”

  • First Graders Gotta Wiggle Their Wiggles Out!

    Funded Mar 28, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous gift to our classroom! We were beyond excited when we saw our amazing chairs were funded!!!! Having ball chairs to use during interventions helps my students be able to concentrate and complete their reading intervention program that will help raise their reading level. When our boxes were delivered to our classroom, a chorus of " YAYYYYYYYYY" rang out. The children were so excited to see what new goodies that were going to be able to use in our room. I am beyond grateful to have such wonderful donors who truly care about the future of our country.”

  • Children Learning Comfortably In Flexible Seating!

    Funded Mar 20, 2017

And the crowds goes WILD!!!!!!!!!!! That is the only way to properly explain how my students acted when they saw the big boxes being delivered to out classroom. They were completely on edge as I opened the boxes and excitedly displayed the contents of each box.

They were so excited to be able to test out the new furniture. It gave our room new energy and gave my students the want to try harder, be more engaged and work as hard as they could in each of the centers where our new chairs were located.

I especially noticed a difference with my children who have special needs while they used the ball seats and stools. By giving them the ability to move and fidget while keeping them focused at the task ahead of them.

Once again, I could not be more thankful for the kindness that you showed our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowes

  • We Love to Write! Can You Help Us?

    Funded Apr 20, 2015

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I could never express in words how grateful I am to be the recipient of your wonderful donation. My students were so excited when I brought up the package. We opened the box together to see what gifts were inside. The children oohed and ahhed over the sharpener, pencils and paper. One child even exclaimed " Look, Ms. Dailey - even a present you!" meaning the sharpener. Our old one was a piece of junk :)

We immediately began using the supplies. The children were happy to have brand new pencils - with extra erasers. Before they were afraid to make mistakes. Now they could feel free to write as they pleased. Writing is no longer stressful. We ( especially me) now know each child has the proper tools to become Authors!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowes

  • Mastering Math

    Funded Mar 17, 2015

I am blown away with support and generosity that you have shown my wonderful 35 first graders! The world is better with you in it! The children were so excited to see the brown boxes enter our room. The shouts of pure joy were heard though out the second floor when they saw that we were gifted : brand new shiny glue sticks. They were exclaimed "YES!" when they realized that there was enough for everyone to have one.

We will be using the construction paper, folders, and glue to help create our Interactive Math Notebooks. We love hands-on active learning! We can not wait to begin Unit 7 in EveryDay Math- its all about 3-D shapes and geometry!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowes

  • Healthy Children Learn More!

    Funded Jan 10, 2015

From the bottom of my heart, I say Thank YOU!!! In an urban district where budgets and man-power is being slashed every year, it becomes harder and harder to provide properly for my students. Your generous gift allowed us to get sanitary products. This is vital in first grade classroom, we are learning to take care of ourselves and our classroom. When we sneeze, cough or spill something we now have the tools to properly take care of this. In turn, allowing us to stay healthy and happy. When we are sick we cannot learn to the fullest. But with your generosity, we will be healthy, educated, happy kids ( and teacher)!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowes
