  • "Felted Dreams: Support Our Art Students with Wool Roving"

    Funded Feb 14, 2025

Your will have a profound impact on my students by introducing them to a unique and hands-on art form that fosters creativity, patience, and fine motor skills. Needle felting encourages students to experiment with texture, detail, and three-dimensional design, offering them a chance to create intricate and personal pieces of art. The materials donated will allow them to explore this craft in a way that's both educational and therapeutic, providing a creative outlet for self-expression. This donation will empower students to develop new skills, boost their confidence, and create beautiful works of art that they can be proud of.”

  • Unlocking Creativity and Wellness: The Power of Music and Art

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

With the new music resources provided by our generous donors, we've embarked on a project called "Unlocking Creativity and Wellness: The Power of Music and Art." In this project, students are exploring the intersection of music and visual art by creating artwork inspired by various genres and pieces of music. A particularly memorable moment was when students listened to classical compositions while painting. The music set the tone for a relaxed and focused atmosphere, allowing them to express their emotions through color and form in ways they hadn't before. The combination of music and art has added a new dimension to their creative process, helping them connect more deeply with their work.

When my students first heard that we would be incorporating music into our art projects, they were incredibly excited. Many of them love music and were thrilled at the idea of merging it with their art. As the music played during our first session, I noticed a shift in the classroom's energy—students were more focused, engaged, and expressive in their work. The music provided inspiration and seemed to unlock new levels of creativity.”

  • Art as Healing: Enhancing Mental Health Through High School Art

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

The new resources have been incredibly impactful in our high school art class, particularly in a project where students explore the theme of "Art as Healing." One specific moment that stands out is when my students engaged in creating personal mandalas, a project designed to encourage mindfulness and self-expression. Using the new materials, such as high-quality drawing tools and vibrant markers, students were able to fully immerse themselves in the process. The project not only allowed them to express their emotions creatively but also provided a calm and therapeutic environment in the classroom.

When my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They were thrilled to have access to such high-quality supplies that they wouldn't normally have. It was inspiring to see them eagerly dive into their projects, knowing they had the tools to bring their visions to life. The upgraded resources made a noticeable difference in the quality of their work, and they were proud of the results.”

With the generous support of Wing 2 Wing Foundation, the impact of our classroom furniture project has been truly transformative for my students. We've been able to utilize the new resources in various ways to enhance our learning experiences.

When my students first saw the materials, their excitement was palpable. Their eyes lit up with curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored the colorful array of art supplies and tested out the new furniture arrangements. It was a joy to witness their eagerness to dive into their creative endeavors and make the most of the resources provided. The versatility of our new furniture allows us to adapt our workspace to accommodate this hands-on project seamlessly. With Wing 2 Wing Foundation's support, we're continuing to foster a nurturing environment where creativity can flourish, and students can thrive as artists and learners.”

  • Comfortable Creation

    Funded Jan 28, 2022

School furniture, especially when needing a classroom's worth, can be very expensive. Some years, teachers have to choose between new furniture and the supplies needed for lessons and more often than not, the thought of furniture is left behind. Due to the expense of art supplies, we would have been lucky to be able to replace even 2 chairs in a year.

The second students saw that the new chairs arrived, their faces lit up with excitement. They knew they would have more comfortable and reliable seating while spending their time in art class for the rest of the year and future years to come. Now that the uncomfortable stools that were falling apart are gone, students have been able to focus more on their projects and have produced such amazing work. We appreciate all you have done to provide to our school and art program.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Garrett

  • Creative Flexibility

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thanks to you, we have been able to have a new learning environment in our art room. Our students truly enjoy having drafting tables which they can adjust to work sitting down or standing up. You may not know, but this year we have had 80 minute art classes and as you can imagine, middle school students tend to get restless after a while and this has really helped them. The new stools have also helps students work on their posture while drawing as they do not have the typical chair back to rely on.

The tablet holders have been added to every table so that students can complete their written assignments online as well as have reference photos and inspiration handy as they work on their projects at their tables. I can not thank you enough for your generous donations to make these items, and so many others possible. This has helped transform our learning environment for the better and I hope we get many, many years use out of the items.”

  • Showing Off Student Art With Display Panels

    Funded Feb 28, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students were so excited when our new display panels came in. Unfortunately, due to the virus, we are unable to put on our art show in person this year...but it is being held virtually if you would like to take a look.

    https://ashleighgarrett.wixsite.com/myportfolio/photo-albums

We will also be announcing the winners of the art show per grade very soon.

We will be able to use the displays for many years to come and I can't thank you enough! I can't wait to be able to be back to school and display student work on them.”

  • Showing Off Student Art With Display Panels

    Funded Feb 8, 2019

Thank you for donating to our art program so we could get new displays. Every year we have an art show for the school and work has to be shown on the bleachers in the gymnasium. These displays have helped to get work throughout the gym and allow more students to enter work into the art show. We had a successful art show of more than 200 pieces of work from grades 6-8.

These displays have also allowed us to add ribbons easily for the winners so the audience could easily identify the winning pieces. It has made set up and clean up so much easier and faster. We also share the displays with the elementary school for their art show and with other teachers who may need to display something for a school event, so your donation has benefited more than just our art program.

The kids and I cannot express how grateful we are to you. You helped make this year's middle school art show a success. We were able to sell pieces and engage the audience all thanks to you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Garrett

It is important to us as educators, and friends to make sure every child has the means to succeed. With the supplies I am asking for, our kiddos will be able to create many wonderful art projects and I can provide a safe, organized and encouraging learning environment. They can strengthen their imagination through painting, drawing, and building. Not every child has the support at home needed, but with your help they can continue to have that support with us.
