Flexible Seating will allow my students to have a choice and take ownership of their learning. Our district is in a low income city and I teach at a Title I school. My students lack the opportunity to make their own choices at home due to age and home/parent work situations. This type of seating will allow them the freedom they crave while still being in a safe environment. Studies have shown that flexible seating has helped students stay focused longer and I believe that the freedom to choose their seats will help build the classroom community into a safe and inviting place.
