  • Video Production, Editing and Conversion

    Funded Jun 3, 2021

The projector arrived and it has been a fantastic upgrade of the old projector. Presentations are more legible and colors are great. What cannot be shown in pictures is the massive improvement in video performance, when we view clips or films that demonstrate concepts the picture is superb. The room is darkened out for these showings and so pictures would simply show the film, illustrating ironically the ability of this projector to create a near movie theater like feel, a major improvement over the previous projector. Since the pandemic students in our community had not been to the theater and some theaters have shut for good. The students were able to present their music video projects with much greater resolution and a great time was had by all.”

    With gratitude,

  • Short Term Fixes

    Funded Dec 17, 2015

Though the words seem insufficient to convey the gratitude of myself, my current students and my future students we thank you for the full funding of our project. The students this year will recognize the contribution, and fully appreciate the difference your contribution has made to their experience of my class, but in the years following, I will continue to let students know of your benevolence.

My Students will now be able to take full advantage of current multimedia technologies and utilize them in my classroom”

  • Performance Boost 1 Station at a Time

    Funded Oct 30, 2015

Though the words seem insufficient to convey the gratitude of myself, my current students and my future students we thank you for the full funding of our project. The students this year will recognize the contribution, and fully appreciate the difference your contribution has made to their experience of my class, but in the years following, I will continue to let students know of your benevolence.

My students prefer to use the computer donated to them through this project and assigning students to the station has become a form of incentive. Student work on the station with graphics intensive projects like video production but other students have used it for other tasks and appreciated it all the same because the computer boots faster and responds faster than all other computers in my lab. ”

    With gratitude,

  • STEM Robotics on the Fly

    Funded May 13, 2014

Your contributions leading to the purchase and use of the Replicator 2 3D-printer allowed us to print around 30 extra parts so far and the future impact is immeasurable. We had about 25 sets of part for the robots allowing us to do group work for most activities but thanks to the printer we have been able to print extra wheels, casters(that allow the robot to run more smoothly) as well as extra claws. The claws being the most valuable print as we only had two sets of claws.

We now have eight sets of claws and students are working on building skills in 3D design in order for us to actually design new parts for the robots that can be printed on the printer. The difficulty with designing parts is that the designs need to have holes and slots that line up with the manufactured robots, this will take some more development.

Not all the students have personally printed on the device but all have seen the process of printing as well as handled the products from the printer. And several students have expressed interest in learning 3D design in the future. Some students have already started experimenting with Blender, a 3d design program that is free to download.”

    With gratitude,

  • Video Production, Editing and Conversion

    Funded Nov 1, 2013

What did your students say about the resources they received?

Students in my class really appreciate your gracious donation of money to help my classroom. The school is located in a low socioeconomic area and were really surprised at the good will displayed by your company. They really want to thank you for the difference that it has made to their class, and to their expectation of goodwill in the future.

Students in my robotics and mathematics class really appreciated the added benefit of having an HD projector to view their daily lessons on. The project was originally for video production in my two periods of ITGS(Information Technology in a Global Society), part of the International Baccalaureate(IB) program at our school. The ITGS students have found the addition to the classroom enormously helpful because they could demonstrate their video production to the class in the intended resolution.

The project has led to us using my classroom for production of the videos for the UC-Davis Robotics video competition this year. We think we actually have a chance at finishing in the top five positions at the final and this would go a long way in encouraging more students to improve their engagement in CSTEM(Computers, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Williams

Our school is in a low income area of the city and more than half our school's students qualify for the free lunch program. We are an International Baccalaureate school, and offer our students access to some of the highest ranked curriculum in the world. The students in my IB class are required to be able to produce video, design web pages and work with numerous forms of online web applications. The demonstration of these skills in front of large classes requires the use of a large projector screen, which we have, but the resolution required for the image to be sufficiently detailed and bright requires a newer type of projector. In past years the projector I have in the classroom has be adequate but with multimedia projects becoming increasingly detailed with ever higher resolution the projector just cannot handle the work anymore.
