Silver and Gold (Vinyl, that is)
Funded May 17, 2019Thank you so much for your donation of heat transfer iron on vinyl to our 2nd grade class. Your donation allowed our students to use their imagination to create amazing t shirts for their end of the school year assembly. They took part in creating the design, choosing colors, cutting the vinyl, and even transferring the vinyl onto the t shirts.
The students were excited to wear the shirts on stage. They were proud of the work they put in and were so happy to show their stuff on stage at the assembly. Thank you for all you have done for us!”

Funded Apr 29, 2019Thank you so much for your donation of a Cricut Easy Press and multiple colors of heat transfer vinyl to our 2nd grade class. Your donation has created so many opportunities for creativity in our classroom. The students were extremely excited when the boxes arrived and couldn't stop talking about all of the different colors they wanted to use to design their Field Day shirts. They loved taking a hands on role in the design process. Some students even spoke about being fashion designers in the future. I told them they already were designers and they became so proud of themselves. It was so great to see this excitement and I hope the pictures can help you realize what an impact your donation had on all of us.”

Design It! Cut It!
Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you so much for your donation of a Cricut Air 2 Bundle. The students were so happy to hear that we received a donation, but were not really aware of what they would be able to do with our new supplies. They cheered when the boxes arrived, but the real excitement set in when they watched a video to see all of the things they would be able to do with it.
We talked to the students about thinking of ideas for shirts to be worn at our upcoming Field Day event. The children got right to work. They thought of some great catch phrases and found some fun clip art. They really enjoyed taking part in this activity and had the BEST shirts at Field Day!”

Funded Jan 26, 2017Thank you again for your donation of printer ink to our class. The class was so excited when the package arrived and they couldn't wait to see what had been purchased for them. When the box was opened and they realized it was ink for the printer, they shouted so loud that we could barely calm them down!
We had begun our unit on frogs a few weeks ago. The printer has been used by students and teachers to create a deeper understanding of different frog topics. To introduce the unit, students were asked to research the life cycle of a frog on the Internet. The teachers helped students print out photos of different stages throughout a frog's life. The students are now in the process of creating class posters on the different stages of development. They are invited to search for additional pictures on the Internet and print out illustrations and photos to add to their posters. They are really enjoying it and it is helping increase their depth of knowledge in the area.
It is quite obvious that your donation has created endless opportunities for learning in our classroom and we couldn't be more grateful for your generosity.”

The students really enjoy working with the math games and we already see improvements in their math abilities and depth of knowledge. Funded Feb 28, 2014Thank you again for your donation of a color printer to our second grade class. The class was so excited when the package arrived and they couldn't wait to see what had been purchased for them. When the box was opened and they realized it was a printer, they shouted so loud that we could barely calm them down!
We had begun our unit on dinosaurs a few weeks ago. The color printer has been used by students and teachers to create a deeper understanding of different dinosaur topics. To introduce the unit, we had the students open a large egg to find a dinosaur inside. We took pictures, printed them with the new printer, and hung them in our classroom to the display the excitement that we began the dinosaur topic with. Then the teachers helped students print out colorful dinosaur fact sheets on particular dinosaurs. The students are now in the process of creating class posters on different dinosaur topics. They are invited to search for pictures on the Internet and print out illustrations to add to thier posters. They are really enjoying it and it is helping increase their depth of knowledge in the area.

Funded Nov 13, 2013Thank you so much for your donation of a new laptop to our Second Grade Inclusion class. The laptop arrived at our school about two months ago. The class was very excited to receive a package and could not wait to see what was inside. I wish you could have heard the enthusiastic cheers that came from our room when the class saw the new laptop. We immediately hooked it up to the Smart Board and began experimenting. They really enjoyed using the technology and were so happy that the computer was not freezing or having issues, as the students had observed in the past. The class was actually shocked to see how well the Smart Board could be manipulated when you have the right tools.
One of the first lessons we completed with the new laptop was a math lesson. In the past, the math program lessons were often interrupted and unable to be completed due to the outdated laptops we had. However, the lesson was seamless, kept the students' attention, and even allowed them to play a game that the old computers were not updated enough to run. The impact the new laptop had on the lesson, and all additional lessons, has been priceless.
Our students display a range of disabilities that cause learning difficulties. I can tell you for a fact that the laptop and Smart Board have been instrumental in engaging students and teaching new material in a different and interesting way. We have seen an increase in English/Language Arts and Math abilities of students who were below average in the past. Your donation has played a large role in these academic gains.
Additionally, your donation has created a chance for my students to learn about the generosity of others. Our students were so proud and grateful that they had been chosen to receive such a wonderful gift for their classroom. They were thankful for being chosen and really started to comprehend your generosity.
Thanks again for your donation of a laptop to our class. This donation has created opportunities for our students to be actively engaged in their learning and begin to understand the generosity of others. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.”

Special Education Students Need Some DOUGH!
Funded Jan 14, 2010Thank you so much for your donation of dough to my Kindergarten Inclusion class. While the students have been enjoying the new dough, I have noticed an increase in their language during center time. Some of my students have been diagnosed with speech impairments and do not choose to speak very often. However, when they have materials for artistic expression, they become very excited and like to share what they have created with everyone around them. Your donation has already created so many opportunities for meaningful language and speech practice in our classroom.
The boxes carrying the contents of your donation came to the school about two months ago. My class was very excited to see and play with the new materials. Your donation included three boxes of dough in five different colors and tools, such as dough scissors, to manipulate it. They really enjoy using the bright new dough and the experience actually seems to bring them closer as a group, as they must share the dough and tools with each other. It is so important for children to gain important qualities such as caring, respect, and loyalty at a young age. Your donation has provided an opportunity for my students to begin to develop those important qualities in their kindergarten class.
Additionally, your donation has created a chance for my students to learn about the generosity of others. Often, a kindergartener's world is based on themselves. It is hard for them to be empathetic to other people at this time in their lives. However, my students seemed to understand that they had been chosen to receive a wonderful gift for their classroom. They were thankful for being chosen and really started to comprehend your generosity. One student asked if we could send you 100 chocolate chip cookies, which is very kind, considering they are his favorite snack! Instead of sending snacks, the class worked very hard on creating cards for you to show their thanks.
Thanks again for your donation of dough to my class. This donation has created opportunities for my students to increase their language abilities, develop great qualities such as caring and respect, and understand the generosity of others. I hope their cards and pictures can show the dramatic impact your donation has had on my students. ”
